Glad to read several opinions from members I trust a lot on this forum stating the W206 is an improvement over the W205. I do like the car when I see it on the road. It looks sporty, has perfect proportions and the interior also looks like a nice place to be.

A pitty in front of it has the G20 3er, which IMO is the closest thing to the E46, and the best sedan BMW has created in a long long time.

Brabus versions of C-class now available and the styling mods looks really hot!!

Performance upgrade for the C-Class

Under the BRABUS PowerXtra B30 label, there is 31 kW / 42 hp more power for the four-cylinder turbo petrol engine of the C 300 4MATIC. They are achieved by a module adapted to the engine electronics in plug-and-play technology with special maps for injection, ignition and boost pressure control. With 221 kW / 300 hp instead of 190 kW / 258 hp and a maximum torque increased from 400 to 450 Nm, the sprint time to 100 km/h is reduced to 5.8 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to
250 km/h.

More power for petrol & diesel variants

The BRABUS PowerXtra D30 power kit can also be connected from any BRABUS support point to the CAN bus of the C 300d turbodiesel model in the shortest possible time. Like all BRABUS PowerXtra power kits, this tuning stage has been designed in such a way that a reduction in mileage is reliably prevented by the increase in performance. With this BRABUS tuning, the diesel engine delivers 33 kW / 45 hp more and also increases its torque by 50 Nm. Of course, 228 kW / 310 hp peak power and 600 Nm of torque also have a positive effect on driving performance: With BRABUS engine tuning, the Mercedes C 300d accelerates to 100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds. The standard V/max limit at 250 km/h remains unchanged. Even more important for daily driving, however, is the significantly increased pulling power over the entire speed range.

Like that rather decent Brabus kit very much. Acceleration improvement is a bit small compared to a normal C 300d, which accelerates to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds. The increase of torque by 50 Nm is of course more important for every day use.

350kw (476PS) is absolutely massive outputs for a 2.0ltr inline 4 engine. It's the same power produced as the past master super charged 5.4V8 in the brilliant 2003 E55AMG. Combined 500kw is even more than 470kw in the GT63 S and current E63S, but judging by the meager increase in performance the E performance GT63 has over the standard model I am a little sceptical for the 150kw total output of the electrical motor. Maybe the total output is more like 420kw (571PS), which still is huge nonetheless.

680hp in a C-Class should overcome the weight gain easily. Wow. I would worry about the longevity of this setup tho.

Exactly what I thought: 340 hp per litre engine displacement. And at what figure of rpm does it reach this maximum power?

Reminds me somehow of the eyelash shrew, with it’s 1,500 heartbeats per minute. But that little guy at least manages to keep his weight down at 1,8 gram?

This new C is still rather seldom seen on Dutch roads. Seeing it in it’s normal habitat, it catches your eyes, it looks really, really good. If it weren’t for that cost-cutted interior, it would be the most sensible Mercedes to drive; it’s large enough, it offers an array of interesting extras, it drives like a real Mercedes.
Personal wishlist:
- airmatic;
- 6 cylinder engines.
Air suspension on Mercedes isn’t always worth it. If comfort is a priority smaller alloys should be the first step.

True, 21” wheels don’t enhance a comfortable ride. Airmatic and 18” wheels for instance on a W223 S class is like you’re on a flying carpet.

Air suspension feels different depending on the objectives that it has been tuned for. On the sclass and its peers air suspension is sublime. However on cars in segments below it can be so firm that you wouldn't even think that they are on air suspension.

In some cases BMW or Audis adaptive suspension rides more compliant than Mercedes e.g m5 vs pre facelifted E63.

Airsuspension in a sportscar is misuse of it. It doesn’t belong in cars like an E63.

The electric motor on the rear axle is producing 199.88kw (201hp) on overboost. It is aiding the M139 4-banger, now rated at 476hp.
The two working together has a maximum output of 670hp for 10-seconds.
The new V8-powered SL55 AMG is producing 469hp, so according to AMG the M139 4-banger in the C63 is just as powerful as the SL55 by itself. It is said to tip the scale at 4409lbs (2000kg) which is roughly 90 pounds (40.82kg) lighter than the V8 E63.

This now makes the 3rd power figure it has been given. The first was 643, the second 650 now 670.

Yea and no, what about race seats vs the inflatable adjustable heated cooled massage seats? Couldn't have driving assistance package with race seats either. I'd rather have a bit of both. Comfortable and racey, but accept neither are best of both worlds.

Hmmm....maybe our definitions of sports cars are not aligned, but I enjoy the far greater degree of adjustability in the Taycan (with air) than I ever did in the 8 GC (without air).

Well don’t forget, the AMG GT 4-door didn’t have anything taken away. It got the V8 + the hybrid gear. The C63 will have a lighter ICE motor.
Lighter ICE motor than what? The previous C63? That is hardly going to help, the new car is a pig to start with - even the base W206 C300 RWD with a I4 weighs as much as the W205 C63 (~3850 lbs).

No doubt you do, but I wasn't talking about the degree of adjustability. By the way, interesting that you notice such a difference between your Porsche and the 8er, assuming latter had adaptive suspension.
