The new Mercedes AMG C 63e 4matic + with 653 hp is currently being tested and will be available in early 2022
Jens Walko from WalkoArt managed to take beautiful pictures of the new Mercedes AMG C 63e 4matic + (W206).
As is already known, the new C 63e 4matic + is powered by a 2.0 liter 4 cylinder for the first time. The 4.0 liter V8 BiTurbo is no longer available and will only continue to be built this year in the C-Class Coupé and Cabrio (C / A205).
The AMG E Performance P3 plug-in hybrid module and the intelligent 4matic + all-wheel drive are new. The traction is not only improved by the 6.1 kWh small battery on the rear axle, but also by the intelligent 4matic + all-wheel drive equipped with torque shift. With the 4matic all-wheel drive, acceleration times of well under 4.0 s to 100 km / h can be achieved.
The C63e 4matic + consists of the following components:
- M139 2.0 liter 4-cylinder (in contrast to the 45 models, the engine is installed lengthways here). In addition, it is equipped with an electric turbocharger. This small electric motor has an output of around 8 hp and sits on the shaft of the turbocharger. When the engine speed is still low, the exhaust gas turbocharger's compressor wheel cannot build up enough boost pressure; the electric motor drives the shaft and thus the compressor wheel. Turbo lag is a thing of the past. As a result, the design of the exhaust gas turbocharger, which is otherwise always a compromise between high boost pressure for high peak performance and good response behavior, can be shifted more in the direction of higher boost pressure. A slightly larger exhaust gas charger (optimized for higher speeds) increases the output of the 2.0 liter 4-cylinder to 449 hp
- RSG (belt starter generator with 14 HP) it starts the engine at lightning speed and also supplies the auxiliary units with electricity
- AMG E Performance P3 plug-in hybrid module:
It consists of a 204 hp electric motor that sits on the rear axle drive. This 204 hp electric motor is equipped with an integrated 2-speed gearbox for perfect performance even beyond 100 km / h. The AMG Performance battery has an energy content of 6.1 kWh and 4.8 kWh usable. It can provide the peak power of 204 hp for around 10 seconds. The continuous output is 95 HP of the battery. The electric range will be around 25 km.
Mercedes AMG C63e 4matic + with 653 PS system performance
The system output is therefore 653 hp. Since it is not a P2 plug-in hybrid layout and the electric motor on the rear axle corresponds to an electric car and revs up to 18,000 rpm, the performance values of the two motors can be added in this case.
The 653 hp are available for around 10 seconds. After that, if the battery has enough power, the output is reduced to 449 + 95 hp. This means that around 544 hp are available for continuous output.
The C 63e 4matic + AMG E Perfomance will be the third E Performance model from Mercedes-AMG.
The AMG GT 73e 4matic + (X290) appears in August. The S 63e 4matic + (based on the V8 BiTurbo) will come at the end of 2021 . The C 63e 4matic + will appear at the beginning of 2022.
Shortly afterwards, these versions will also be available in the new Mercedes SL.
