It's interesting to see the base spec cars. Are these a popular choice, i.e. do you see a lot of them around? Would be curious to know what their take rate is around Europe...

If you buy the new 3-series in Sweden the base version come with I-drive and button on the steering wheels. Probably just retards in UK selling cars without button on the steering wheel and I-drive. Cheap bastards I guess. Then there are luxuryline, sportline, modernline, M-package to spice up the car. Also performance equipment is available. Equipment level is different from market to market.

This is base version (316i) in Sweden

What a complete ignorant moron you are. "Retards". That's a pretty bad word to use for a start!

What does the UK have to do with anyway?! Who mentioned the UK? These models are not taken from the UK site! They're the German site by the looks of it.

As it happens the UK standard spec is generally higher than a lot of other European countries, such as sat nav and leather being standard on the 5 Series, and leather and sat nav standard on the M3, which it wasn't in a lot of other countries. And UK prices are generally LESS. Why don't you read for yourself? Idiot.

Seriously, what a fool you've made of yourself.

The steering wheel in the Audi is longing so cheap like in Skoda Fabia, ble...

The Mercedes-Benz C-class will come with a second wave of engines after its UK launch next spring, insiders have revealed. These include a new twin-turbocharged V8 engine in the C63 AMG that could have as much as 493bhp.

The initial engine line-up in the new C-class, seen here in this exclusive studio shoot, includes a 168bhp 2.1-litre turbodiesel in the C220 Bluetec, a 154bhp 1.6 petrol in the C180 and a 181bhp 2.0-litre petrol in the C200.

Shortly after launch, a further turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine will be offered in a C250 model. This has outputs of 208bhp and 258lb ft of torque.

On the diesel front, an ECO version of the C220 Bluetec will be offered, complete with an aerodynamically optimised body and low rolling resistance tyres. This is expected to have a best-in-class rating for CO2 emissions close to 100g/km.

A 201bhp, 369lb ft version of the 2.1-litre turbodiesel will be offered in the C250 Bluetec.

Each of these three additional C-class variants will be offered with Mercedes’ new nine-speed automatic gearbox, codenamed NAG3 and known as 9G-Tronic.

Later in 2014, Mercedes will offer a C300 Bluetec Hybrid variant. This is offered with the C250 Bluetec-spec version of the 2.1-litre turbodiesel engine, and gains an electric motor with 28bhp, 184lb ft electric motor. This C-class is also set to get the nine-speed auto’.

Another late 2014 engine launch in the C-class range is Mercedes’ new 4.0-litre twin-turbo petrol V8, codenamed M177, in the C63 AMG. This engine will have between 454bhp and 493bhp and will be rolled out across Mercedes’ whole suite of AMG models from late 2014. The 7G-MCT SpeedShift automatic gearbox from existing AMG models will be retained in the C63 AMG.

In 2015, Mercedes will launch a C300 Plug-In Hybrid model. It uses the M274 turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder direct injection petrol engine in 249bhp state of tune together with a 67bhp electric motor.

Any rumors of the C63 release or reveal date? I've never paid much attention to the C class, but this new one is very impressive. Would love to see what type of beast they create with the C63.

Looks a little frumpy in the last 2 pics. Front looks good though.

I don't know why xenon is not standard light instead of halogen? Xenon standard and LED optional would be great. F*ck halogen!

I am not sure, but I think there was already a discussion somewhere and the reason was that xenons must have washers. Halogen and LEDs do not need them, so it saves weight as well as some costs.

I would have spent the money on upgrading the headlights rather than on the AMG sports kit.

Funny thing, the rear seats are noticeably short, and this diagram shows they are even smaller than CLA's. Hell, even front seats are smaller (525 vs 544 for the CLA).
