AMG ONE [Official] Mercedes-AMG Project ONE

The Mercedes-AMG One (R50, previously known as Project One) is a limited-production plug-in dual hybrid sports car manufactured by Mercedes-AMG, featuring Formula One-derived technology. Production: August 2022 – 2025 (275 units planned).
I wouldn't be surprised if they did use them... during all their other "lap records". Which have always seemed suspiciously fast to me when compared to the NB lap - and have become even more so after I learned that the car comes with a slick option also. We still have no videos of those laps - and no info on what tires were used either.
Cup 2 R were used

"headsets? what do I need headsets for?"

There go plans for road trips with your wife out the window.

BTW, I like how both F1 drivers / AMG One owners (that I know of) went for solid paint instead of the dorky F1 themed hand painted livery.

For Rosberg, it wouldn't make sense as the star livery came after his F1 stint. While I can appreciate the craftsmanship, I'm also not a huge fan of that livery. Especially when, according to a One customer, ~200/275 have ordered it.
So many, in fact, that they suffered delays due to a shortage of the components for the F1 silver paint. And to get them all done, Mercedes had to recruit a second painter, Gehrt Innovation from Thuringia, Germany. They are known for being Bugatti's painter, and also did the AMG GT Black Series P1 Edition cars with a similar livery.
So cars are shipped from England to Germany to receive their star livery, then shipped back to England for final assembly, then shipped to Germany again for customer delivery at AMG in Affalterbach.

Undisputed Hypercar King. Currently for laptimes. The ones that count most say anyway.

Do you have some comparatives to share?

The One is heavily disparaged here, but having watched a presentation about the engineering behind this car, it really is thoroughly impressive if only for that aspect.

Steering away from the ONE a bit:

Has there been any more recent news regarding the AMG.EA, axial flux e-motor 4 door GT and the electric large sport/luxury crossover ?

Click on the laptimes and the non rivals show up. Aston Martin Valkyrie currently has one. Hennessey Venom F5 Revolution has one.

I can't count Czinger because zero have been delivered.

Mercedes has four (last count) including the Nurburgring.

Wasn't it supposed to run at Bahrain? Or did it get scared of Valkyrie?

I don't know. It's not really a track that I think they're too fussed about.

The Nurburgring is generally seen as the main barometer so to speak.

Aston Martin have said the Valhalla will beat it?

"Aston is also targeting a Nurburgring lap time of 6:30."

So how much quicker is the V12 Valkyrie?

🤔

His car looks great in that colour (which funnily comes from Maranello) with black wheels and is much nicer than the ugly star livery with silver and light blue accents.

Look past the F1 connection and this is such a weird match of car and driver. Rosberg doesn't strike me as the technical type or a settings tinkerer, while the car is as complex as it gets.
AMG must have thought simplicity would take away from the F1 appeal, so you really do need a race engineer to operate all those onboard systems.
Rosberg is used to luxury, he expects things to work without having to RTFM. He'll be on the phone with AMG helpline every two weeks when he takes it out for a drive.

Damn the car is loud and high pitched. Like putting your ear next to a watching machine during the spin cycle.

The car is too complicated to operate. Even Rosberg looked confused. I like the colour though, looks really good.

Insane.
Wow he was absolutely nailing it around the Mercedes track, The noise is mental inside the car, I can understand why they give headphones as it must be eardrum deafening.

Wow the acceleration of this car is insane to 350km/h. I think Mercedes performance claims are very conservative. I think it will be like 2.5sec to 100 and close to 6sec to 200km/h. He thinks it will do 7sec to 200km/h in bad weather conditions!!
