Many people here will be surprised by the sheer presence of this car. It's huge and don't drive passed you unnoticed like an E-Class or CLS.
The car looks so much better now than the initial press photos or photos taken at the motor show.The sheer presence of the car impresses. I think it has the Panamera beat in this regard, which is a big feat.
Man, the new CLS looks like garbage next to the GT. And I could not have thought it more differently when they were initially introduced. Goes to show first impressions are often wrong.
Did you get to see them both at the same time? I’ve only seen the GT but not the CLS.

Not as far as I know, but I’ve seen and sat in one this weekend and am seriously thinking about ordering one. Even without a diesel...Any word on customer response/orders on either car?

I must soon take the opportunity to view the new X290 "up close" at my friendly local M-B dealer. Several months ago, I caught a distant glimpse of a silver-metallic example in Hamburg city traffic (an Erprobungsfahrzeug, I suspect). Be it a brief encounter, it left me mighty impressed.
