GT 4-Door Coupé (X290) [Official] Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé

The Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé (X290) is the first generation five-door variant of the AMG GT two-door sports car. Production: September 2018– Model years: 2019–
So day 2 and watched a few videos on fb and Instagram..It's a Beast nothing from Mercedes in 4 door form has ever come close to this in terms of beasty car.

Love it imagine seeing it in rrar view mirror.

It is surely a menacing looking car but I feel the body contouring could have been a bit more aggresive like maybe adding a muscular character line here and there?

Very much agreed, but that isn't Mr Wageners desire... it is not hot and cool, it is not sensual purity...

I don’t like the nomenclature, they should have gave the car S,C and R variants like the GT. in reality, it’s literally a lift back E class.

I'm trying to figure out exactly which infotainment system this GT 4-door will offer. There is no mention of MBUX, and the press pictures seem to show the widescreen COMAND system, but the live pics show that the center display shares the same graphics with the new A's MBUX. The widescreen COMAND system--as found in the S, E, CLS, etc--has a slightly different trip odometer display.

The GT 4-door's display below:

The press release also mentions a "full screen map mode" similar to that found in MBUX. I don't believe the widescreen COMAND offers this feature, since it confines the map to the circular tach display.

It's plausible that the GT will feature an MBUX-like center display with a COMAND main display, or that it might be quickly upgraded to MBUX.

I love the GT, but I'm questioning if there should be room for this and the CLS in MB's lineup. I would probably have only offered the GT if I were an MB product planner. It has a more distinctive interior and perhaps a more daring design than the CLS (which is also identical to the A). It also has a cool rear center console that the previous generations of the CLS used to offer. I do find the CLS's exterior slightly better resolved.

As the SUV craze shows no signs of stopping, I'm slightly surprised that MB can justify offering these two niche sedans. I would not be surprised if one of them (or both) only last one generation. As a...

I don't get the positioning of the CLS, or for that matter, MB's strange decision to not offer V8s on it and the other E non-sedan derivatives. A CLS 63 S and E 63 S Coupe would have been true beasts.

I am underwhelmed by this AMG. Perhaps by the fact that, unlike the GT, it is not a model developed from the ground up specifically for AMG. AMG has already used this look before, in the recently redesigned S Coupe AMGs. Can't fault their technical specs though.

so the CLS is now more expensive and more uncomfortable than this GT 4 door...so what's the point of the CLS?
at least the last gen was starting from around 50.000 euros

Serious question...Am I the only one who really doesn't like this car?
It's not that I don't like it, I just don't understand where it fits ... I guess if they're not doing a CLS 63 so that kinda explains it, but I was told on the stand they'd be bringing a 43 as well around September.

I'm coming around, I was scared and confused before. I think it's caused by my 30s.

I don't understand, how is the new CLS more uncomfortable than this?
the back sits on the CLS only small, medium people can stay comfortable, in this, even an 1.90 man can sit without touching the roof
