^ Might be a mule for an S213 AMG, according to some rumors emerging from MB Passion? It's somewhat similar to the tamer version we saw in May? :)

I spent some time in a C63 S yesterday. I had no idea the car was so raw and loud, at least from the back seat. Feels absolutely epic accelerating. It might be a bit much for a daily driver though.

^^ Was the active exhaust ON Marcus?

I'm really not sure, but it must have been. I know we rode around in sport mode for a few moments and it was loud and blatty.

Oh Marcus, are getting old and grumpy ;) you know you want one, go get it!

Ha ha ha.....I'm pushing my best friend to get one, but he wants the coupe. Gonna be a bit of a wait.

C63 S Gets a Massive Boost From Performmaster

The new Mercedes AMG C63 S is a hammer of epic proportions. It’s 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 makes 510 horsepower and all the torque imaginable. Seriously, driving this car is like driving through a wormhole and coming out the other side terrified, and slightly older. However, there are those that want more power in the super sedan, and the folks at Performmaster have answered those calls with a lot more horsepower.

Performmaster played with the AMG’s ECU, and through just a reflash, they gave the new C63 S 612 horsepower, and boosted the torque to 620lb-ft. That, in a sedan the size of the C63 S, is just lunacy, but it’s the kind of lunacy we can get behind. According to Performmaster, the car’s new top speed is now 192 miles per hour. Acceleration to 60 miles per hour has also been cut by.3 seconds, and by 1.3 seconds when galloping to 124 miles per hour.

Additionally, the tuner gave the C63 S a whole new look with some killer new body panels. Now here’s the question: how stressed is the engine? And will those turbos blow up if put under too much boost?

AMG were certainly right with this new engine in that it has so much potential for producing much more power. These guys just played with the ECU and managed to get another 102hp and 104lbft. Imagine what more can be extracted out of this engine. Maybe 700hp or more is possible.

The 4.0 L twin turbo V8 is basically two of the 2.0 L AMG engine combined together, so theoretically the engine's max output is 560 kW or 750 hp.

Yeah its pretty amazing what potential this smallish engine has!! 4ltrs but has potential to equal a 6.2ltr and 6.5ltr V12 normally aspirated engine as fitted in a Ferrari and Lamborghini with even more torque than both. AMG are on a role now with their amazing engines.

Possible hardcore Mercedes-AMG C63 Estate spied by reader
Flared fenders give it away. Black Series perhaps?

Motor1
reader Markus has sent us a couple of images he managed to take earlier this week on the German autobahn. While at first you might be tempted to say it’s only a camouflaged prototype of the forthcoming Mercedes-AMG C63 Estate facelift, there’s something a bit special about the car. Look at the flared fenders. These are slightly more prominent compared to those of the regular C63 / C63 S. It could be a sign of a more hardcore version of an already very hot wagon.

There has never been a Black Series version of a wagon, but perhaps Mercedes-AMG is ready to change its modus operandi. A similar E63 Estate was spotted just a couple of days ago, so maybe there will be two Black Series models in the years to come. After all, the peeps from Affalterbach did say the ‘Black Series’ moniker is only hibernating for the moment and will wake up at some point in the future for some ultimate versions of already high-powered machines.

If we are indeed looking at a first-ever C63 Estate Black Series, it means lurking underneath the hood is an uprated configuration of the biturbo 4.0-liter V8 engine which in the current range-topping S version delivers 510 horsepower (375 kilowatts) and 516 pound-feet (700 Newton-meters) of torque. The C63 S in Estate guise runs to 62 mph (100 kph) from a standstill in 4.1 seconds and maxes out at an electronically-capped 155 mph (250 kph).

Needless to say, expect the more intense version to trump these power and performance numbers for a significant premium over the regular model which costs €86,215 in Germany for the S model.

Regardless if it’s a Black Series model or a differently labeled edition, the meaner C63 Estate will probably be out together with the facelift for the regular C-Class in 2017.
