Yup, don't expect any less from the folks at Toyota and Lexus in that regard.
It's a shame isn't it. The Supra, NSX, LFA had ridiculous long development timelines to the extent that the two letters were borderline uncompetitive in performance just 1-2 years into their existence.

Still though Japanese cars were special in the 90's compared to what they offer today. Every single brand had a sports car or even two in some cases. It was magical for the a while.

They had even four sport cars in their range;
Honda- Civic coupe, CRX, Prelude, NSX
Nissan-100 NX, 200 NX, 300 NX
Mazda-MX 3, MX 5, MX 6(Ford Probe), RX 7
Mitsubishi-Eclipse, 3000 GT
Subaru SVX
Toyota- Corolla coupe RWD, MR 2, Celica, Supra
And what did the Europeans have at the time - an antic Porsche 968

No, new TTV8. 550+ hp.

It'd better be 640+ hp, otherwise why bother?

Frankly, for most of these driver's day-to-day, the difference between something like 575 hp and 640 hp is meaningless. But perception is a big deal. I hope it sounds good. I wonder if the turbos are housed in the V valley, a la ze Germans.....

Compared to their NA V8, not even close. Compared to other TT V8s, it can't be significantly better or worse, there is no single turbocharged V8 that sounds good. You don't get a turbocharged V8 for sound, but for perofrmance. In fact you don't get any turbocharged engine for sound (except maybe a Subaru with EJ25 UEL headers, blow-off valve and anti-lag).

This looks mean. Just shows the potential of LC F...

I saw it. I regularly check youtube for latest LC vids, as I did for the LFA. LC is my favorite car ever. LC-F should be a monster with bragging rights, but the LC is plenty enough in reality, and it sounds like nothing else today. I doubt the LC F will sound better.

They are taking so long to introduce the damn thing. Now that we're in this worldwide situation, we likely won't see the car until late 2021 or early 2022. I mean the LC is a hot car, but my goodness. There should be a LC F convertible/roadster too. A LS F would be nice.

LS sales were DOA. I doubt Toyota will invest in more cash into the car at this point. They’ll let it sell as is for a few years.

Shame because it’s the first LS with it’s own unique identity. Interior design and quality is superb. The exterior can look weird at times.

For the moment it looks like Japan is dealing quite well with the corona crysis. I havn't heard anything how they do it, but I suppose that they will not have any delays for the planned launches.

Due to the economic uncertainty, Lexus will apparently kill the LC F project! The twin turbo 4.0 V8 will likely be used in another project. In a new forthcoming SUV. That's really a big shame. I was looking forward for this car...

Don't know whether to LOL or just SMH. I know things aren't great globally, and I'd be more sympathetic if it were MB or BMW, but this also typical ToyoMoCo dragging their feet. This could have been something.
