I always wondered what Lexus learned from those higher capacity V10 engines they were testing out on those prototype LFA's at the N-ring......
The Code X 5.3 Liter V10 version of the LFA engine was only used in racing in the SP Pro class (and did very well in the 24 hours). It had the same air restrictors on as per requirements of the class limiting it to 7500 rpm like the 4.8 Liter version, but it produced a lot more torque due to the additional displacement.
It offered some hope that Lexus had been planning a gen 2 of the V10 with a lot more power etc., but it never went much further than that. Maybe, there was something planned that got shelved, but no one would know.
