ES [Official] Lexus ES 2025

The current ES was a very very attractive design that did an excellent job working with fwd proportions and setting itself apart from the Camry/Avalon.

New one looks like a small cheap fwd econobox, despite being nearly the size of an LS (202" long?!?!) Not sure how they managed to donthat

This is a cheap looking Chinese copy cat car for Lexus. The current model looks really great with nice Lexus recognizable styling ques such as the grill, swish headlights and L shaped tail lights but the new car looks really anonymous and has fussy details. It has some styling hints of other cars such as the Toyota Mirai and Crown and the interior looks like another Chinese copy of a Tesla with a massive 15inch Ipad screen.

You know things are bad when even Calty (Toyota's California-based design studio responsible for designing the last ES) is taking a public jab at the new ES.

Although the new Lexus ES interior is not exactly full on luxury, I do appreciate them using plastics that are not shiny piano black and the rear seat is equipped with expensive looking armrest cupholders which look a whole lot better than the cupholders in the E-class and 5-series. The back seat space looks massive and probably comes close to the S-class and 7-series.

The car is uglier than shite and won’t touch any of those cars on the road.

The current model looks a whole lot better. This model is too much of a mix match of other Toyota models and the interior is following all the Chinese car trend of copying Tesla with the 14 to 15-inch portrait screen and minimalist straight cut dash. I am not a big fan of the minimalist industrial design trend we seeing with car interiors lately. Its almost like the car design industry has lost its soul and creativity has long gone.

From the photo, it seemed like there was nothing Lexus about this car at all. But after watching the video, it's clear that it is a Lexus, and you can see the evolution of the interior design. At first it might seem underwhelming, but I think if you sit in an older ES after being in the new one, it’ll feel really outdated

I always have a soft spot for the ES/ Avalon.
But why does Toyota have to ruin interior design by tacking on a screen and using different shifters in every car.
