Yes your correct
Scirocco R = FWD
Golf R = AWD

Consider no one outside of VW have heard or driven this thing, I'd suggest not putting out your opinion as facts.![]()
It will sound like all the other 2.0 TSI/TFSIs.....Diesel like on tickover and that is a fact.

its amazing how much better this car looks with the LED/Xenon Units

Very nice. But it costs £28,500 and I'm sorry, but that's far too much.
Agreed, I will take the audi s3 instead.
Or I would buy a new cupra for 18k and then have 10k left to spend on say a used honda s2000 or bmw z4.
S3 pricetag?
btw the current A3 is OLD, 2004 base....
I see quite a few S3 Sportbacks on the roads these days [what recession?] and they still look fantastic. A very classy, upmarket ride with peerless interior quality in its segment.
That said, I'd go for the Golf R. It may lack the cachet of the Audi badge but I reckon it's going to look absolutely sick on the road. It is the newer design after all and it's a great example of how a Golf can be subtly enhanced with the right kind of go-faster bits without looking overdone but still presenting an image of restrained aggression.
Like it a lot even with it being an S3 underneath.
