458 [Official] Ferrari 458 Italia

The Ferrari 458 Italia (Type F142) is a mid-engine sports car produced by Ferrari. Production: 2009-2015. Predecessor: Ferrari F430. Successor: Ferrari 488.
LOL!
Sadly though, in BMW's case, it will not be exeption but rather the rule :(
But then again, it's cool to say: "Nooo, that's no 5.0 but a 4.4 twin turbo"

LOL - yes, you're right. Imagine, in 3 years time when BMW launch the F35 with a naturally aspirated 3.0 litre engine and call it a 330i. People are going to be so darn confused! :D

I'm searching for an old NSX photoshop that was floating around a few years back. This design reminds me quite a bit of it. If any of the members want to join in on the search we might turn something up.

Oh well Ferrari beat them to it. As usual the Acura design looks like lame arse copy of something else.

Good eye there Marley, I had the very same impression - especially when recalling the press-release frontal 3/4 shot of that Honda concept. Some distinct similarities, particularly the turret-like "cabin pod" that seems to sit atop a more squared off rear end.

The shape of the headlights is rather intricate. It gives the car a menacing look.
From the poor quality press pics, I thought the wheels looked kind of fake. But according to this pic, they're for real.

I love this car. The best looking Ferrari for decades!

Can't wait to see this thing in videos like Top Gear and such. I know, I know, I've said that before.

Looks like a mini Enzo sometimes.

It's bloody fantastic. Best sportscar in the world right now for sure!!
Porsche will have to follow this vey closely, the 998 will be the main competition.

The Facelifted Turbo has less power but yet has similar performance number. It successor, the 998 Turbo won't have any troubles matching or exceeding the 458 in any performance category.

It is going to be a stunner. The world's greatest sports car for me.

I agree, this car is absolutely gorgeous, my favorite as well, and I can't wait to see more pictures.

Thanks Merc1.:usa7uh:

I agree! (Assuming that Bugatti is in the ultra super sportscar range ;) ). No matter what Porsche comes up with, it will never look as good as the Ferrari 458 or be remotely as exotic.

What performance number are you talking about besides the pretty pointless 0-60~3.5 secs? Do we know anything else besides that for these two cars?

In power to weight ratio, 458 murders even GT2, let alone the TT, I doubt it can keep up at speeds beyond where traction is the limiting factor.

is the GT2 or 3 (whichever is faster), faster than the Scuderia around a track?

I'm not trying to argue here because I do side with you, but to Hassan's credit, we also have no idea what the 998 will bring to the table.

It's going to be interesting to see, that's for sure. The Italia has upped the ante significantly. 997 platform will not do.

Similar performance number? Nothing is known other than some meaningless specs like 0-100km/h. Italia is going to eat 997 Mark II Turbo for breakfast. It will not even be funny how big the gap will be. With a bit of luck, the Mark II Turbo matches the Skyline, but the Spec V is way too much already. Let alone Italia.
