458 [Official] Ferrari 458 Italia

The Ferrari 458 Italia (Type F142) is a mid-engine sports car produced by Ferrari. Production: 2009-2015. Predecessor: Ferrari F430. Successor: Ferrari 488.
But then again, Ferrari is all about the feel the driver gets... numbers add up to nothing...

The Facelifted Turbo has less power but yet has similar performance number. It successor, the 998 Turbo won't have any troubles matching or exceeding the 458 in any performance category.

Doubtful, very doubtful. then it means FL Turbo will be better than GT2? Doubtful.

Check the press release. The facelifted 997TT does 0-100km/h in 3.4sec and should be neck to neck with the Ferrari in 0-200 times too. Don't worry about the GT2, it will receive a performance bump too just like the 996 GT2.

I just think this is silly to get into an argument about these cars when none of them have been tested. Manufacturer numbers are often not met and again exceeded in real world testing. I'm sure there will be plenty of comparisions between all these cars.

That said I simply don't care when I look at the Ferrari and hear the Ferrari...two (subjective) measurments that a Nissan nor a Porsche will be able to equal. If you want numbers and don't care about the rest the Nissan or a ZR-1 will do it cheaper.

Ah you only speak about acceleration. I thought you spoke about handling, driving dynamics and driving involvement, the whole package. Sure in acceleration it might follow but the rest, 458 is one generation ahead.

You speak the absolute truth!

Ferrari is like a supreme "lord" of sports cars. Porsche is so....it's just there. Everything about the 458 screams perfection and "fame". Porsche can do 0-60 in 1.5 sec and it still wouldn't make a difference. Not to mention even as "well" known as Porsche is, I don't see a "High Society" member that can afford a 458 pass it up for some "everyday" use hatchback Porsche.

Yes, I am being a snob, but that's just what I think about it. Matter of fact I hope they don't let Paris Hilton buy one.

Like I said, all we have is 0-60 time, which is pretty pointless for cars this powerful. Pretty much every ~500HP sports car does it around 3.5 secs.

As for 0-200, it is pure speculation that they will be neck to neck. I have my doubts. 458 has way better power to weight ratio and is not laden down by a power sapping AWD system.

Of course we don't. I was talking about his claim about how 997TT mk2 is going to match 458 based on just 0-60 time.

Yeah, I think he's lost his marbles thinking something like that. I kid, I kid, don't kill me Hassan. LOL I don't think the Turbo will ever equal the 458 in overall awesomeness, especially not the exterior design of the thing. :D

Also once you get over 60mph, the effects of aerodynamic drag will make a difference. I can't exactly remember which tests and with what cars but quite often you see cars going quick from 0-100km/h but loses out to the other one once the speed reaches 200km/h.

I have a bad feeling about this car, it might not look as beautiful IRL as the press photos ..

Even more beautiful probably. Just like the F430 was the most beautiful car ever made when just new.... :eusa_danc:eusa_clap:usa7uh:

Isn't it a bit too busy from the back ??? :eusa_thin
Yep, i hate the black vents around the lights and even more the black triangles and the red lights into them, this car is so phenomenal sculted but these details are over the top, at least from a design point of view.

If this was a S-class, 7 series or Rolls-Royce, then I would say they did way to much. On the other hand this is something that is a normal for an exotic sportscar.

It has that land jet kind look to it that I love.
