I heard that an Italian test driver (also raced for Audi in LM) had a terrible crash testing the Bollide at way over 300 km/h a few months ago. He walked away with minor injuries. I think we often forget that development of such missiles is still risky and it makes me think that just as with many things in life, more and more and more isn’t necessarily better and the ultimate goal.

295MPH 2.3 miles 45.6 seconds, there's absolutely no need for anything quicker or faster. At Kennedy Space Center or Ehra-Lessien perhaps but Nevada desert roads or Texas freeways? It's not worth it.

Bugatti knew in 2019 it was time to walk away. In fact 2017-2018 because the project started way earlier.

Do you mean a driver accidentally collided at 300KM/H while testing a Bugatti Bolide? That was really too thrilling. Since he was only slightly injured, it also proved Bolide's extremely high safety performance.

Note that he said 300KM/H instead of 300MPH. The accident should not have happened on the straight road. For a racing car, it is likely that the grip limit was exceeded on the curve. In fact, the top speed of Bugatti Bolide is only 380KM/H.

Correct, I believe that was the crash. Bugatti has kept their mouths shut and ensured no one leaks anything. The high velocity pushed him up and outside of the track.

I know exactly what he said. English is my first language and I need no corrections from you. He knows what I'm talking about. And who the current (contested) World Champions are to include times and distances and speeds, one way.

And I need no assistance with Bugatti specifications, If I do I'll ask. And Bugatti has walked away which is factually correct as is everything else I wrote.

An Iconic hypercar I'd say. And that shot for me says it all. Frank, Sasha, Achim and Etienne did an incredible job.

I think they've all been produced I know Q4 the Bugatti Mistral was supposed to be in manufacturing production.

The original the best.

Simply unbelievable to think this car was launched almost 8 years ago. The car has not aged at all in terms of design, and performance.

Yes indeed to it's 2016 Geneva Motorshow debut. But the actual design itself well its definitely 1-2 years older because of the pre production prototyping.

And yes the design is incredible and the performance legendary.

Old post to reply to, I know. But I believe you've read the numbers on that infamous Bolide presentation instagram leak the wrong way.

It is hard to see, but IMO it says 2,809 kg at Vmax, split 34% / 66% between front and rear, 966 kg / 1,843 kg.

Which is about 1,216 kg @ 250 kph.

Bugatti themselves claim "nearly three tons of downforce" in one of their press releases, so it checks out.
