Z Series [Official] BMW Z4 (G29)

The BMW Z models are a line of roadsters manufactured by German automaker BMW. The Z stands for Zukunft (German for future), and has been produced in four different series with six generations consisting of roadster, coupé, sports car, and concept variants. The introduction of the M Coupé and M Roadster in the Z3 line marked the first of the Z series to have a high-performance BMW M variant. The first generation Z4 also continued to offer M Coupé and M Roadster variants. The current Z4 (G29) uses BMW's (B58B30) inline-six, its platform is the basis for the current Toyota Supra.

There seems to be a distinct difference between the Supra and Z4 even if they share the same hardware the tuning seems vastly different the Supra is not a Z4 coupe.

Yupp. It's in line with my expectations. Different suspension, tyres sizes and anti roll bars can make a car feel drastically different.

I said in the Supra thread that putting M4 lower control arms, -10mm MPerformance springs and a LSD on the M135i/140i drastically makes it more compliant with the road surface, reduces skittishness of the rear and makes the steering more direct. All of which are affordable and reversible mods(enhancements).

The Z4 might see a sales uplift now that the TT will be discontinued and the SLC might not see another generation.

Someone here, driving like in the photo, ever went back to clean up?

Finally saw it on the road. It’s quite startling from the front. Dramatic even. Pretty not so much, but it isn’t ugly either.

Quattroruote has just tested Supra vs Z4 M40i, Supra lapped Vairano in 1:17,44 and Z4 in 1:18,15. Someone have scans or test data of this duel?

It is a pitty that an interesting side profile and gorgeous rear end are ruined by such a terrible front end.

The previous Z4, as old as it is, looks way better from the front.
