As expected good review.

As someone who has one on order and has been monitoring inventory and demand closely, I wouldn’t characterize this vehicle as white hot in the US. There’s demand, for sure, but people can find vehicles and people can pay under msrp. Can’t speak for the other 83% of the world tho
So BMW opted not to pump sound into the cabin because of all the work they did to keep it quiet ....I wish they would do that for all their vehicles.
Judge the car for what it is, which is an X5 XL. For the majority of consumers the X5 will be large enough unless you want the biggest boot possible or 7 seat.
Based on that I did not hold expectations that the X7 was going to be an unprecedented blockbuster success. After all, practicality is the only advantage it has over the X5 and that in itself is also a disadvantage for some from a agility and parking perspective.
Long term, discounts will likely bring the X7 closer to the X5 to the point the choice is no different from deciding between a sedan and touring.
.
I'm sorry, but anyone that says the X7 has "immense space" is just wrong.

Wife killed her first tire before the 5000 mile marker; getting a new tire, walked over to BMW dealer across the street. X7 is not even visiblely bigger than X5; has inadequate 2nd row space, and 3rd row can't seat anyone older than 10 years old...
This is "immense space."

X7 interior quality was very nice; blows away the Navigator. If I could only explain how cheap and plasticky the paddle shifters are in my wife's car, but I can't...Navis are gargantuan and I really dig their interior unapologetically American aesthetics. But good luck selling even non-LWB version in Europe.

My problem with the Navi isn't the interior, its the elephantine exterior with the ugliest wheel choices possible. It also needs an air suspension to smooth out the ride on the biggest wheels.

Sticker MSRP of the X7 I looked at was $109K; basically $11K more than our Navigator. I kinda feel like I got a bargain now...

Don't think X7 will have to worry about the Aviator as much as Cadillac's XT6; it's appears to be a complete mismatch in favor of the Lincoln. It's funny, my tastes tends to skew to the Europeans, but I really like how unabashedly American the Navi and Conti are. I was actually impressed with the materials for the most part. Then again, my expectations weren't very high going in.
Yeah, I am not crazy about the exterior. From the pics I've seen thus far, I really like what they d...
Bmw dealers in China began to hype X7 which will go on sale in months here. They are sending a signal that the initial demand of X7 is very strong,if the Chinese customers want to deliver X7 in the first time this year in China, they must pay mark-up which worth around 200K CNY to dealers.
Because of the weak competitiveness in the high end market in China,Bmw...
