X5 M / X6 M [Official] BMW X5 M Thread

The X5 M is the high-performance variant of the X5. In April 2009, the X6 M version was announced, with a 408 kW (547 hp) version of the BMW S63 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine. The BMW X5 M and X6 M are the first vehicles from BMW M GmbH to have xDrive all-wheel-drive system and automatic transmissions, and are also crossovers as opposed to passenger cars.
Tyc: 5er sedan, 5er touring, 6er coupe, 6er cabrio, 5er GT or 7er sedan.....or X5/X6....they will all have that engine, so there's quite a bit of choice ;)

Most probably the very last one you mention, but i don't think that engine will be available by the time when i plan to change my car, so current twin turbo will do just fine...;)

:t-cheers:

Multi-turbos are in the work. Not only for diesel purposes.

:usa7uh:

4,4 litre v8, adding 4 moore cylinders would make 6,6 litre v12, the size of the new RR EX 200, right? and upcomeing 760li?

or maybe 5,5 lite v10 for m5?, m-some kind of GT 6er????

humm 3,3 litre v6 for next m3? with quad turbo?

just some ideas....

That sounds horrible. Better cut that V12 the other way... 3.3 litre I6....

^^^ Yeah, and that is all pretty damn logical if you realise this new M car is a SUV :all_cohol
The next M5 probably won't have an auto tranny. It won't be as heavy. It won't have AWD...it will only have the same turbo V8, and that's fine with me :)

You think so? I sort of doubt it. I think it will have a bi-turbo V10... just a hunch.:t-cheers:

hmmm, I like these cars - especially the torque figures - I'm sure they're a blast to drive..

However as an M car , i don't know - they've sort of lost their way in my opinion.

The photography was hurried because of the about turn to debut the car in New York , originally it was destined for Shanghai on the bout that China is a key progressive market for this car and it's brother.
with the advent of BMW's decision to abandon the Tokyo motor show our launch cycle is now rearranged with each BMW subsidiary responsible for their own Events marketing , BMW NA will host the X6M debut , so everything has been rushed through in which it is highly in evidence.
So where is X5 M debut? Shanghai?

Holy smokes, those things are freaking hot & colors are just great! Rims are a bit X3-ish though! :eusa_clap

The only thing passing through my mind right now is a real-world drive! Must be sizzling!

Can someone tell me what's that Z8 doing on the BMW stand ?
It may be a museum show car but I highly doubt that because of the rims.. can someone post some photos of it ?

Thanks in advance :)

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
