I have a M50d on Order in Grey metallic. I Like the carbon mirrors as the ferric Grey M mirrors blend in With the exterior color and This Would make them stand out and I think I'll order them. I don't however Like the front, side and rear parts as they make the car look like the non M sport version (unpainted). Little torn on the black kidneys. On one hand they look sporty, but on the other hand they may stand out and divide the lights too much and look disconnected from them. I am not sure if they make it look more like an e70. If the lights had a black rim or black background, it would be a different matter. Not sure what to do about them...

I went to stealership and saw the X5 IRL for the first time. I have to take back most of the negative feelings I had initially.
For a first impression not bad- although I could not find one with a third row seat I already like what I saw.

To me the bootlid spoiler seems larger in the M performance, or is it just the CF additional small spoiler that makes the effect? In the upcoming X5M it seems that the kidneys will be black...

Nice pics. So i bought the black rims for winter wheels and cf mirrors, and am probably going for the black kidneys Nintendo m50d. Didnt know i Was speccing it to look like a x5m mule. nice pics.

X5 lost huge amount of points for not as good off-roading capabilities compared to ML & Grand Cherokee (91 vs 138 vs 127 pts).
Cherokee was praised for its great off-roading capabilities, low base price & good on-road driving.
ML was praised for comfort but the base price was high.
X5 was praised for great on-road capabilities: it was the fastest, the most agile, the most efficient & offering still very comfortable ride.

So ... Nothing new here. X5 has never been a great off-roader. It's a on-road SAV ... Offering BEST mix of sportiness & comfort in the class.

I don't understand these tests. Most people who buy these kind of vehicles never do any off roading. The best they'll do is a pavement or two. I must say that this generation of X5 has taken a few knocks from the media. They just don't like it.
