X5 [Official] BMW X5 (F15)

The BMW X5 is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV produced by BMW. The X5 made its debut in 1999 as the E53 model. It was BMW's first SUV. BMW marketed the X5 officially as a "Sports Activity Vehicle" (SAV), rather than an SUV, to indicate its on-road handling capability despite its large dimensions.

There's lots to like about this car and my first impressions about the rear has evaporated especially in the black.

P.S. Digging the white S/E with the black rims.

^^ that's not much of a standard :D

Seriously, I was just about to say this.
The rear is growing on me rapidly. I still don't love it, but I haven't even seen it in person...

Btw, they should offer the car with two seats in the rear and a proper console in the back as an option. Hope they do this in the X6 @EnI

This design like so often happens with others opinions change greatly with the chosen colour, the rear definitely looks best with black but on the rest of the car you lose those lovely curves and creases that the designer has given it's shape, I reckon a nice mid to deep metallic grey would look amazing though I'm unsure if that's even an option.

Saw this car in the flesh for the first time last week. My impression in a nutshell: gorgeous 3-dimensional front end design is lost in photographs. Flank is OK but the rear disappoints, it's too "van-like". Interior feels a little uninteresting and plain. Not sure why I got that impression. Perhaps because it feels close to my F10 which I received over 3 years ago.

My current Cayenne interior is far more interesting and feels more "bespoke".

That's exactly why. As beautiful as it is, this design theme is getting boring. It was a mistake to give it to the F15. We'll have this design theme for like 12 years by the time the F15 gets replaced. That's simply too long..

Agree with you.
Even in this particular photo posted by Eni, i still don't like the D-pillar combined with that flat roof especially in black, makes it look too "van-like".

I guess that's why they took the photo from the side a bit far to hide this car's weakest design point.

And it looks like a proper SUV not "van-like".;) The only thing needs to be changed for Cayenne is the rearlights (IMO), and the car will be perfect.(y)

D-pillar is just OK, so is the angle of the rear window. What makes the window & D-pillar to look upright are those aero flaps at the sides of the rear window / D-pillar (check them out on the white car in the pics - they are clearly visible there). Therefore in some cases the F15 X5 looks a bit van-like form some angles.

The X6 will offer the individual rear seats feature - just like the current X6. I don't think X5 will get that. X7 more likely.

Gorgeous inside and out, especially that M diesel. I don't even like diesels, but the thought of driving that through a snow storm is entertaining.

Does anyone know what size rims/what type of rims are on the white F15 with black rims?

I just wanted to pop in and say that it has fugly rear lights.

ciao

^no its not ¨that¨bad..but its a 50K plus car, so why bad at all?

previous X5s didn't suffer from this..

BMW really mixes and matches with these rear lights.
Great: 5er,7er ( oh and 3er to since its a 5er rear light)
Fugly: X5, 2er, 1er

Proabably not the same designer, or maybe he is a schizophrenic

PS
I had to say more:D
