X1 [Official] BMW X1 (F48)

The BMW X1 is a line of cars produced by BMW since 2009. A subcompact luxury crossover class, the first-generation X1 was based on the E90 3 Series and offered rear-wheel drive layout as standard. The second-generation X1 marked the switch to a front-wheel-drive-based layout using the UKL2 platform shared with the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer and the Mini Countryman.
The Audi has the cleanest treatment of the side glass aft of the B-Pillar, it makes huge difference in huge difference. This is where the X1 is most severely burdened.

That comparo is madness. Never liked the Q3, with its egg shape, but the GLA is on a different level of uglyness IMO. It looks like a raised A-Class. This X1 interior, while not being perfect, does look much better than the others.

Huge win here for BMW. I expect even more from the next X3 now.

You will get it!

In addition, the LED headlamps and kidney grilles are really well integrated. One of the features of the old X1 we are not sorry to see disappear is the set back hood opening – the new X1’s hood opening extends down to the upper edge of the kidneys. Perfect!

Yes @bmwblog, perfect indeed.

A winner indeed. Is BMW going back to design of headlights not being integrated with kidney grill?

The more I look at it, the more I love it! It looks so aggressive and stylish in the X-line and Sportline guise. Not a big fan of the M Sport package though, that looks a bit oversized for the car.

Although I liked the previous car's exterior, this takes it to another level, can't wait to see these in traffic!

Really exciting times for a bimmer fanboy, now that the horrendous 2AT and GT are already behind. Only exciting models to come these two years :D Still sad about the FWD 1-series though, as I've always liked the gokarty, RWD feel that the current and past models have given with a proper sized engine.

Oh well, gorgeous car this X1! :)

Has Potential visually, no full M but an M Performance variant is being discussed. They have started preliminary development at Garching on the next generation X3 and X4 which for the first time will offer an X3 M and X4 M as well as two M Performance models offering petrol and diesel.
Which means the current F26 X4 has a total life of just over four years as the next generation will launch in early 2018.

Scott, how did BMW manage to sneak into Sydney at such a iconic location?

Yes they shot in Sydney, Australia. But also in California and Venda Nova and surrounding areas in Portugal. A small drop in the ocean in regards to how many sales the car will generate.
