X5 [Official] BMW (E70) X5 Facelift

The BMW X5 is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV produced by BMW. The X5 made its debut in 1999 as the E53 model. It was BMW's first SUV. BMW marketed the X5 officially as a "Sports Activity Vehicle" (SAV), rather than an SUV, to indicate its on-road handling capability despite its large dimensions.
Life Cycle Impulse aka facelift :usa7uh:

Stunning update to this car. Absolutely outstanding. I particularly like the fact that they didn't force the eyebrows on the car like they did with E92/93

Of course it will get the facelift. But it is bad/sad for those customers who have already purchased the M version. :D

I agree as they just bought when it was released in fall 2009. But other than LED angel eyes on headlights and new taillights, I don't think much will change on X5 M. Its not getting the new 8-speed transmission, or is it?

Though it looks as good as ever, this is one of the slightest facelifts I've seen. Hard to tell what the differences are.

^ Well the front bumper and fogs are noticeably different imo..

Don't know about the 8 speed, but other than the LED lights in the front and back, the X5 M will not change at all. Just like the E92 M3 coupé. You're right.

It's been a pleasure working with the E70FL the past few months :D

I'd have to say that the car is an improvement over the outgoing model. My personal favorite parts the new tail lights (which look even better at night), the new engines obviously and the new top view camera. It's a breeze to park this car anywhere now.

Also the color that you see on brown 50i is DROP DEAD GORGEOUS. There's not a classier color for the E70.

Good to see you back dude! Some more posts from inside the company are always welcome here. You can maybe even have a Warot info channel like Scott ;)

All these photos were taken in Miami. I wonder when they did it. I wish I happened to stumble upon the photo shoot.

Such fake plastic mesh grills with a hole or two are commonplace. See the Golf 5 GTI. The hole is probably to provide airflow through to a sensor such as the air temp sensor.

Holy crap Warot!! Dude it's been a long time!!

It's good to hear from you guys. Unfortunately, I'm not part of the marketing crew, just a good old engineer. So I'll let those guys do what they are "supposed" to do

Actually, it's much simpler than that. It's so that you can stick your finger in there to pop the grill out. No sensors :D

The V8's get proper grills on both sides of the car
