2019 should be the year when the engine lineup is completed with further variants. Probably, the best moment to be chosen will be the arrival of the new 8 Series Gran Coupe.

I expect them to fill the current, giant gap between the 840d (320 hp) and the M850i (530 hp). An 840i with 374 hp would be one of the new offerings, possibly followed by a M850d variant with 400 hp, and, why not, an 845i to fill the 400 hp - 530 hp interval using a detuned version of the 4.4-litre found in the M850i (though this model is less likely to happen).

This car looks so elegant and beautiful in profile, it's a much more special car than the coupe. I wouldn't be surprised if eventually it is a better seller than the coupe.

The Arc the B-pillar makes and the chrome trim is what does it I think. When it leaked I thought we were seeing a photoshop that used the S-Class top.

Definitely an 840i. But I do not believe they will offer an M850d?

The metal back cover of the canvas roof opens in reverse of all the cabriolets with canvas roof, or am I wrong?
If that does not make it special enough, I do not know what it will do!

As someone who has and maintains a car with a hood hinged on the bumper side, rather than the windscreen side, I have to tell you that things that open in reverse of the common way are stupid, not special.
