4 Series (F32) [Official] BMW 4-Series Coupe

The first generation of the BMW 4 Series consists of the F32 (coupé version), F33 (convertible version) and F36 (five-door liftback version, marketed as 'Gran Coupé') compact executive cars. The 4 Series was created when BMW spun off the 2-door models (coupé and convertible) of the 3 Series into a separate series. Production: July 2013 – September 2020
It looks so damm perfect on these latest pics from Just_Me.

When judged against what?

All its competitors IMHO. The 3er is many years newer than the C-Class but the interior feels very "entry level". Especially the speedo/rev counter etc, as well as dash mouldings and materials.

I do agree somehow. If you want a class leading interior in a BMW you should opt for the 5-Series.
Interior wise:
A3>1-Series>A-Class
C-Class>3-Series>A4
5-Series>A6 and E-Class is a tie IMO... all is up to personal taste.
S-Class and A8 FL is kind of a tie too... BMW is not a distant third.

That's all my personal opinion of course :)

i cant see anything that screams entry level too me

i dont want to look like 3er defender, because i dont think its interior is superb, but you guys act like competition is somehow superior to it, they are all good and its only a matter of taste

The C-Class has very nice materials, granted, but the switchgear / rotary dials are plasticky and have a nastier snickity snick than even our Forester's controls. But ok, C-Class does have a rather good interior.

For the rest of it, I couldn't disagree more. The A4's dashboard is flimsy matzo bread with a urethane coating. The buttons are the cheapest-feeling, pealy-plastic el-cheapo variety ever to grace the interior of a premium German car. The same goes for the diabolically nasty headlight selector dial and surrounding insert. The BMW 3er's solid chunk of polyurethane dashboard feels properly solid, the inlays are tightly fitted and the buttons are top-notch. It's not perfect either, the cheap Tupperware on the centre tunnel is hard and scratchy but no worse than on similarly located surfaces on the A4.

As for the BMW's dials - I get wood looking at those brilliantly legible dials, the extended digital display that changes from white to orange when the ambient light wanes, the sharp LED cruise control speed indicator in the bezel of the speedo clock and the lovely precise clock needles. Very few do instrumentation better than BMW - Porsche maybe, the Cayman's is exceptionally good in my experience.

I did a comparison some time ago between F30, A4 and C-class. Neither of them outshines each either. Both have cheap plastic in some areas. Depending on which way you see it, both are good or bad. But saying one of them is better than the other is just wrong.

Guys you can't compare a brand new design with dual tone plush wood interior with a facelifted 7 year undercarriage black/silver interior. And the 3er has two versions of instrumentation available. The standard version is horrendously cheap and basic.. The average 3er interior is pretty poor. But yes, it is possible to spec it up. But remember, my opinion is subjective, although I'm very familiar with all three interiors. The f10 is a beaut. The f30 should also have raised the game..

I'm sorry but I disagree as well. The C-Class interior looks ancient. The pnly things that look better than the 3er are the steering wheel and the speedo.

Which doesn't mean the 3er interior looks nice. IMO in terms of design it lacks emotion, it's not bad, but I would expect much more from BMW.

Go search the W204 C-class coupe archive and find my IRL photos in that post @JLBM, el-cheapo highlited you will find. Back when the local dealer got them in the showroom I had to get into the C-coupe becuase I truly thought it's a very nice looking coupe. I am a sucker for any well designed coupe and it's no secret the Audi A5 was my favourite Audi before the A7 came along. Meaning that being a BMW guy I am not married to BMW. I did take the time to inspect the W204 coupe for if it hit the spot back then I would have bought one and drrove it for two or more years. Why not? I was a Benz owner before! I'd tell you why, the front seat backs and the center console is poor tase 3rd grade plastics. I hate paying premium for yards (front seats - back part) shiny, scratch-easy plastics.

I am searching for those photos...give me time or help Admin:D

Though found this in the W204 C-coupe official thread (Page 12) of me replying to Giannis who said he ould not mind owning one.
Human:
Me too! Local dealer has two beautiful C-coupe's (AMG Sportpack) in the corner window of the showroom L&R with a new ML inbetween.

Until I saw the plastics that was.:( My previous W203's always made me feel 2nd best and 3rd grade vs my brothers 2003 E46 318i sedan in terms of tactile and perceived quality. Speaking of which I have actual photos of the white pre-FL and black FL C180 Kompressors. Will scan and e-mail to Martinbo and ask his help to post them.

The C-class dashboard is similar to those of the eighties, nothing to do comparing with current 3/4 Series surround dashboard, floating 10 inches screen and attractive design. have no point of comparison and is not the first time this is discussed, the interiors of C class and E class are square, lacking inspiration and not very well resolved .

Speaking about materials and quality, what I see in that C-class picture, is the festival of plastic

It's not the 3er sky, this is the 4er. It commands a premium space and needs to be differentiated. It s not, it's simply a cut and paste 3er interior..

Ok, I get it. The A5 coupe = copy+paste A4 interior and so does the 4et coupe the F30's. Whereas the E-coupe uses the W204 platform but shares E-esque cabin or 'a class above' - Fair I agree BUT that will make the 4er too expensive for what it really is, it is a 3er coupe, no hiding it, not even the number - 4. So I am still ordering my 435i at the fair price of being a F30 coupe in actuality. So the F30 derived cabin does not bother me at the least. Whereas the E-coupe is a pricey ripp-off IMO - especially here in South-Africa.;)

The truth. And looking at the spy shots of the W205, the next interior design will on A class level of uglyness.

4er is 3er coupe, and 3er coupe always had 3er interior, name change doesnt change anything
