Actually, the new touring has received a modified sharp bootlid. It is actually much like the 8 series situation: sedan/coupe come with a 'double' lid, hatch/gran coupe get a single, broad lid. I like the latter much better, tbh.

Agreed. It makes a world of difference on the 8er vs 8er GC.

It's like this, because about 75-80% are bought as company cars.
