Who are the designers of this car ? And also for the X5-8-z4 ? @bmwblog any infos ?
Why don't you ask Scott? Just kidding, he knows nothing.

The Exterior of the new 3 Series was designed by Alexey Kezha (Belarus/France), who also designed the 2002 Hommage.
The interior was designed by Nury Kim (South Korea). This is her first project that went public.

And also the X5, but the 3er looks completely different style and should be somebody else

Calvin is an amazing designer but the team is full of other highly talented Designers :)
Like Anders Thøgersen (Denmark), who designed the exterior of the new X5. He was also one of the two designers responsible for the Exterior of the X7 Concept. The interior of both (X5 & X7 Concept) were designed by Eva-Maria Günther (Germany). She was also partially responsible for the interior of the Vision Future Luxury.

The Z4 was designed (as correctly stated) by Calvin Luk (Hong Kong/Australia) and the interior by Florian Sieve (Germany), who also designed the interior of the X3. So these two have collaborated before :)

the 8 Series exterior was designed by John Buckingham (England). he was also responsible for the design of the Mini Rocketman Concept. Robert Hlinovsky (Germany) designed the interior. He was also the designer of the 7 Series interior and the 328Hommage/Vision Connected Drive interiors.

Finally BMW learned something :)
I was just looking at the car in person (a 330i with M package presented at FIZ Projekthaus):
In recent years, BMWs - for my taste - were too "high"! I mean there was a huge gap between upper side of tire and the fender - mostly visible at the front!
Even with real M cars. This was also the reason I had to lower my M4 CP with the M Perf adjustable springs...!

The stance/height of the G20 with M pack is just perfect! It has the right height from the factory. No needs for aftermarket springs anymore! It is subtle lowered! Exactly the perfect height imho without looking "ricer car"! Miles better then any BMW / M-package vehicle since the E9x.
Even the offset of the M wheels look quite good. Yes - for perfect stance like 10 mm per side would still be cool, but it is acceptable ...
Congratulation BMW!

Epic post, there used to be site with all the information on key BMW personnel, i wish i could find it again. Anyway the past work of these guys explain a lot of things. But just one question though, how can two people be responsible for the design of one car ? (X7)

Bmwism.com used to have a page on designers that was a good starting point, that site has recently been suspended though.

Add to that list Hussein also
Hussein is a legend. Look, not wanting to downplay the epicness that is the G20 but let's be honest here - a 3er is a pretty nice base to work off as it is, with its great proportions, classic silhouette and all...
But anyone that can make that 6 GT look like it does, for what it is, is pretty darn special. It's a much, much nicer car in the metal than the 5 GT was. I'm sad not to see more of them on the road as it's grown on me tremendously.

I think that's the one.

Yeah absolutely, X6s and 6erGTs aren't the easiest bases to work with. I would really have liked to see Hussein's design proposals for the 8er and Z4.

It seems BMW the 3er GTurd won't see a second gen.

I wonder if the 4er GC will follow the same route...

Hussein is good people :) Super talented, nice guy. We will see something from him next year. At least one that we know of.

I'm not sure it's been mentioned yet but the when the key for the G20 isn't in motion, it doesn't transmit any radio signals. This makes it more difficult for thieves to steal the car using a relay box.

It makes it impossible, because the key will shut itself off. No signal to copy, no steal this way.

The 4 GC is a turd too, so yeah very likely.
A big heavy Chinese LWB 3er disguised as something else. No M version and you cannot even open the rear window properly.

Isn't the 4GT on the standard 3er wheelbase?
