3 Series (F30) [Official] BMW 3-Series (F30)

The BMW F30 is the sixth generation of the BMW 3 Series range. Body styles: F30 (sedan), F31 (wagon/,touring), F34 (fastback/gran turismo), and F35 (long-wheelbase). For this generation, coupé/convertible models were spun off to create the new BMW 4 Series. Predecessor: BMW E90. Successors: G20 3 Series, and G26 4 Series Gran Coupé (F34). Production: 2011–2018.
How I said earlier that I don't think the front flows with the sides. The front looks like some futuristic thing, and it makes the conservative and evolutionary sides look at-odds and older when you see the car from the frontal 3/4 view. Same criticism I had of the new A6. Conservative sides + radical fronts. The F30's front is surely more commanding than the F10's front, but IMO the F10 is a better balanced design by far.

I'm going to the L.A auto show next week. Do you guys think there is a chance the new 3er will be there? According to the show's website, there are still 4 cars under embargos , so I wonder if there would be a surprise.

The new 3er won't be at the L.A. auto show.

Best regards,

Don't know if it's just this photo but it looks like the steering wheel and dash top are of a much lighter colour than the rest of the interior, this is the complete opposite to the norm.

Not entirely sure I like it. :eusa_thin

An evening with the BMW 3-series

Spent an evening at BMW GB headquarters in Bracknell having a good nose around the new BMW 3-series. Any thoughts on the subjective nature of discussing the exterior styling were put to one side for the night (for what it’s worth, I’m a fan of the new 3’s looks…), with judging the new additions to the 3-series line-up and the interior quality and space on the agenda instead.

The general interior quality of all three pre-production models was excellent. There are soft touch materials in all the right places, and the front seats were high on comfort and adjustability. If it is possible to find a nice driving position without actually driving the car, this is something I achieved…

Of course, which distinct 3-series model a buyer picks will come down to personal taste, but of the three on show, the Sport is the one that really looks the part for me.

That's part of the Modern Line trim. You can pretty much have the interior in any way you want with all these packages, options and Lines.

I also prefer the look of the Sport along with the Modern but unless the original UK configurator has the engine choices wrong for the Sport it could never appeal to me as it only showed 2.0L petrol and diesel as it's engine choice.

All I meant by that comment was it's unusual to see this, normally the steering wheel, dash and door capping are darker than the rest of the interior but according to this photo it looks to be the opposite which because of it's unfamiliarity looks kind of odd. :t-cheers:

I don't know why the doors are black on the inside in that spy pic, that doesn'tlook good with the light dash, no.

The one in the picture doesn't look to be leather so maybe the remaining plastic panels are a different colour from that of the leather, that might explain why the dash and wheel look lighter?

Could it be that the larger 328i and 335i engines come in with the introduction of the M Sport pack rather than just the regular Sport?

Looking forward to the UK configurator including the M Sport :)

I hope not because I actually prefer the look of the Sport over the M/Sport. Though that being said I much prefer the blue accent on the interior. BTW I notice the link I posted to the UK configurator is nolonger working, they must be working on it at the moment or either have realise the F30 was on it and stop it until nearer the date.

Why on earth do they still need those strange looking side reflectors on U.S.-spec cars? In 99% they look like being slapped on as after-thoughts? I mean, seriously, it's like this DOT rule is existing since 1886, so why are they almost always so badly integrated?

Another strange thing is the frame for the licence plate? Old Porsches used to have these elevated fugly things to comply with some bumper crash-tests back then... again, is BMW not aware of DOT regulations? They have a design studio in the U.S., don't they :t-crazy2:

The wood in the interiors looks like being stolen from Fred Flintstone's car...

I looks like I was right and they do use different coloured plastic for the non-leather trim. Here a screen shot of both on the UK configurator.

Liking the top picture, not liking the bottom one.

Anyone feeling the same way? :t-hands:

Beautiful BMW interior, even more color and warmth than the 6-Series.

The more I see it, the more and more I fall inlove with it. It's simply stunning. By far the best looking BMW in the stable so far.

Other than the familiar buttons and stuff, I don't find the 6er interior to be a real BMW interior somehow. Feels unnatural and 'forced smooth'. Something is putting me off there. For the 5er too, particularly when compared to the best interior ever made by BMW, the F01 7er.

BTW, that bottom pic by Deckhook imo looks pretty darn good. Color combinations unlike I have ever seen before. Even the dials are themed...
