1 Series [Official] BMW 1 Series Sedan [Chinese Market Exclusive]

The BMW 1 Series is a range of subcompact executive cars (C-segment) manufactured by BMW since 2004. Positioned as the entry-level model in BMW range of products, the first generation was produced in hatchback, coupé and convertible body styles.
The long awaited real life photos of the 1 series sedan. Styling wise, it is quite conservative and boring. Build quality feels solid, the top half of the dashboard and doors are made from soft touch materials, the bottom half of the cabin is made from hard plastics, as to be expected. The design feels semi premium, it doesn't feel cheap except for this horrible central screen. Interior is quite roomy, enough room for the average Chinese customer.

What an ugly BMW,but fortunately it's a rare sight on the Chinese road..Maybe in China MB has the image advantage to sell more A class sedan, but I could be wrong.

That is true, the CLA is also a rare sight and Audi doesn't sell the A3 sedan at all in China. From what I have see, people still prefer a bigger car in China if not a mid size SUV.
You hadn't seen a single A3 sedan in Shanghai?Unbelievable...
It's locally made along with the sportback and sold more than it's sibling..and A3 is the segment leader in China.

I can't help but find it rather revolting to be honest.

Don't hate the player, hate the game. China LOVES sedans. VW have 8 sedans BELOW the Passat, some of which are not pretty. It's remarkable how popular sedans are there whether beautiful, average or unattractive.

No,I dislike the A sedan too. What I meant was Chinsese people would buy it just for the three pointed star.

Quite possible, it's true throughout the rest of the world too!

Do Mercedes have plans to manufacturer the A Sedan locally?

Yes it's a L version..already debuted in April at the Beijing autoshow...
Actually My first post meant that MB has the brand image advantage over BMW in China, which possibly could help them sell more ugly A class sedan.

That's not love, that's all about lack of money, many people don't have the means to buy a second car,so a sedan would do the job better than a hatch.

You can call it a lot of things, cheap , plain or boring if you like ....but ugly isn’t near one of them.

It look dated for me ... did the sales number are in line woth expectations ?
For me the x2 is the best représentative of bmw spirit (short sporty look small glasshouse) ... among the FWD models

Stunning machine

I do not see why do not go head to head and compete in all markets with Mercedes and Audi, not only in the looks department, but also in all the road tests conducted in Mexico were totally surprised and agree that it is an excellent product worthy of being BMW, if in the facelift update it on issues to raise the tone even more to the interior and with the new IDRIVE and other details would be a perfect contender and with the 2 grand coupe could together eat the market as merecdes probes with the A sedan and CLA has been shown to be different but compatible products.
