Mulsanne [Official] Bentley Mulsanne

In 2008 Bentley sold 277 Arnage (2007 = 357) cars…there are no specific numbers for the Phantom… :usa7uh:

2008 Phantom sedan sales figures:

Phantom (including Phantom Extended Wheelbase): 644 (2007 = 757 ; –14.9%)

Source: BMW AG

Figures include sedan sales only! Coupe (137) & Drophead coupe (431) not included!

PS: and mind RR dealership network is still under development, and still no near the size of Bentley dealership network!

Sure, Mulsanne looks "very much" like the original 8-litre. :cwm1:

That's quite a respectable number given how old the Arnage is -- it's almost pre-historic by today's standards.

Wow....I love it. I can't believe they actually pulled it off. The car has just enough old world look to it to connect to the past without looking like a retro/caricature. Wait until you see this in Black/White/Green/Blue.....and with different wheels. Going to be sick. Time to change my signature.

Yeah I didn't think the Arnage would outsell the Phanton given its age, though it is cheaper than the Phantom. Not that it should matter with this crowd.

Why don't all of you give it a break for once and just talk about the new 'grand' Bentley instead of the same arguments over and over again in every single new car thread.

The interior....
Based on this pic, it looks like it's quality...but it does have a slight Audi /Phaeton feel to it, i.e. the gauges, steering wheel, steering wheel controls, and the audio interface. My biggest complaint regarding the Continental series is that it alot of Phaeton parts. I was really hoping that it'd be completely bespoke in appearance.
But here's a cool little tid-bit....look at the gauges, the increments start at the 1 o'clock position, whereas usually the gauges start at 7 o'clock positions, or sometimes 6 o'clock position. I don't know how to feel about that...a part of me feels it's unique, and another part of me feels that it's a bit too gimmicky.

Verdict of the interior (at this point, at least): We need better pics.

The more details I see the of these lights, the more I dislike it, which is pretty sad, cause I quite like the rest of the car a lot.

I would really like to hear from the designer what's the point & aim of these LED holes - design wise.
Since the LED tech today is very advanced, and much more discrete solutions could be used instead of this very primitive graphics - which work better on a funky design as eg. MINI.

Perhaps the designer line of thought went this way: "Hm ... MINI is a typical British design ... MINI has holes in headlight cluster graphics ... the holes in headlights graphics are typically British ... Bentley is also a typical British brand / design ... so Bentley should also feature those holes. " ;):D

:t-hands:

Yeah, the headlights are the only nasty detail to an otherwise very beautiful car. It just sucks that headlights are so damn important.

Day 3 and I still think it's ugly. Sorry, but I'm just one of those members on the other side of the fence. I think that GCF is one of the more unique communities where the response is overwhelmingly positive for the Mulsanne. Back at Pistonheads opinion is divided right down the middle.

So yes, I'm in the vast minority here but I'm entitled to say that I still don't like it. Then again, it's not like you've seen me gushing superlatives for Rolls' Ghost either. I suppose it's a case of, no matter how wealthy I could possibly get, I would never own a car such as the Mulsanne. A Mercedes Benz S600 is all the luxo-saloon excess I should ever care for.

Yep, you can buy such ultra-luxury vehicles, if you don't know, what you should do with all your money. I would love to drive one of these, but even if I had the money (I will never have though :D), I wouldn't buy one of these.

Interior will look gorgeous - needs a wooden steering wheel though – and a nice deep brown leather…

I can't work out if I like this or not. Can't decide for the life of me. Definetly don't like the rear and the front design. Side profile has a certain charm to it. Interior looks very much like the Phantoms interior - so it looks good. I'll sleep on it.

I really love the fact that they brought this car out in a gold color. The more I see this Bentley the more I like it. It will be interesting to see what color it will be when it comes to frankfurt. I wonder if their will be a Mulsanne T.
