Flying Spur [Official] Bentley Flying Spur (Third generation, 2019- )

I can’t this car off my mind. I’m trying to think of the last time I was so taken by a new car.

M

It really does encapsulate the very essence of what an "athletically elegant, traditional 3-Box, large luxury sedan" should be. And IMHO, M-B, BMW and Audi offerings woefully pale in comparison. But in view of Bentleys' asking price, comparisons may not at all be warranted. The R-R Ghost is the target. Had I the sufficient funds, they would be transferred to Crewe without a second thought.

Also nice methinks. With an acceptable level of the shiny stuff:

I like this latest of your configs a lot as it addresses one of my two reservations about this new FS: the grille. I‘m quite surprised that only very few seem to miss the classic brushed Bentley mesh. I do. Vertical bars are a RR design element, in my book.
My second gripe cannot be attenuated that easily. I think that the silhouette would be even more convincing if the greenhouse was a little taller. Side windows are too much loopholes for a luxury car, imo.

Busty, so you want a taller greenhouse ? Bentley CAN DO taller greenhouses !

But my joking aside...

I very much agree with your comment regarding the mesh versus vertical slat grill. I do appreciate the shallow greenhouse however. It lowers the cars' visual center of gravity and leaves it appearing...low...as well as svelte-despite the cars' height of just under 1490mm. Of course, rakish pilars and shallow sideglass are not conducive to outward visibility.

I dislike it. What's the point of spending money on exceptional wood veneers if non of it can be admired or touched from the rear. Without the contrast the rear cabin looks like a quilted padded room.

I am sort of with you on that.
The design is only slightly matched with the front panels. On top of that, there are no grab handles.

I’ve had it as my desktop wallpaper for the past few days. I like it more and more. As for the grille, I too would like to see it with traditional mesh .....perhaps as an option. The vaned grille is also a part of the history of Bentley since the 1930s ....and it does also look good I think.

I’m just looking forward to seeing the new S class .....can’t wait :)

Megan Markle, your new daily driver is ready.

She’s a big spender which some in the British Media seem to have a problem with. She has a great sense of style and always dresses beautifully. I’m not convinced that the British monarchy will last another century. However, both princes have married very photogenic women ....and that can’t hurt in this superficial age of Media saturation at least.

There must be a successor for the Mulsanne; although this new Flying Spur is undoubtedly an excellent car, it is not enough to cement the Bentley marque as a suitable competitor of Rolls-Royce or future Maybach models. The Mulsanne’s cabin retains a more ‘handmade’ feel than contemporary Rolls-Royces. There is still a market for bespoke craftsmanshi...

You are right. Exclusivity is important in this call whether it's true or perceived. Bentley might as well give keep the W12 going for another 7-10 years before putting it to rest.

The Windsors ... British Kardashians. :D:D:D

Providing the general public with drama, scandals, fashion, style, cult-like following fan base, total media exposure ("mediawhoring") for centuries ... It's like the ever going on reality show ... Even trashing popular shows like Big Brother, Love Island etc. They are the biggest entertainers in the country. And the biggest (cultural) export item. It's like having a ruler & a top gladiator in the same persona. :D It's ridiculous. Ancient. Bizarre even. Having a royal family as an object of voyeurism. But they seem to like it (and milking it). And don't know ...

All they need to do yet is to replace their Bentleys & Range Rovers with Mansory Royces. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: #thenextlevel

If they do redesign the Mulsanne, can you imagine what it would be? It would have to be step above this new FS and that would be a car for the history books.

M

They have to step up to go toe to toe with the Phantom. I think they will also do something radical like go BEV or FCEV.

Why Rob? You won't like it anyway. :ROFLMAO:

Jokes aside, this Bentley is S T U N N I N G.

I've been watching some of the "delayed" live FoS coverage on YouTube. What a fantastic event !
