Why is it 427 kg heavier than Q7? Surely the W12 petrol is not that much heavier than V6 Diesel.

BTW Will it have the night vision option?

It's certainly not overly pretty.

Well I know it will not be everybody's favourite new vehicle but I don't hate it.

I don't hate it either but see purpose of it. We are very accustomed to the presence of an SUV being greater as you move up the pricing ladder. You only have to turn your eyes towards the GLE, Range Rover and X5 to come to the conclusion that their front-ends are imposing and designed to make a strong statement. From the front they look like they are on the brink of transforming into a Decepticon.

Both the Bentayga and Q7 are leaning towards being anti-SUVs with their long proportions and mellow front-ends. They could almost be mistaken for raised station wagons. The Bentayga is visually weaker than I anticipated but what I understand is that Bentley don't want it to be a new model but instead an extension of the Continental line. The beauty is on the inside and it is gorgeous and a big step up from the Range Rover.

With tinted windows the occupants will be able to enjoy an exceptional luxury experience without turning too many heads on the road.

Damn, not even the interior is pretty. Completely unlike the concept.

Probably good product not worth the money. GLS Maybach to show thing or two? :)

Btw can you order it with this?

My guess is the interior fittings, those seats will be super heavy.

Interesting thoughts Hassan.

I don't think we've seen such overt ostentatiousness since the 1920s and '30s.
In the 1920s and '30s wealthy individuals would have cars tailor-made to their own requirements but today there are so many more people who can afford to own über-luxury products.

This has caused fierce competition between brands ......desperate to out-do eachother, we've seen collaborations with brands like Fendi, Hermés, Robbe & Berking, Breitling, Linley, etc. It's almost enevitable we end up with silly things like Swarovski crystals on headlamps and overly elaborate picnic sets ......the noble austerity of the Bentleys and Facel Vegas of half a century ago has given way to brassy over-indulgence.

We're living in interesting times and the cars available to the very affluent are some of the most extravagant ever built ...... the sometimes gauche and questionable taste is a direct reflection of who has the money in today's world.

Am I the only one who was expecting a much worse ressult? Taking into account the fugly concept, this is quite decent.

I would never consider it, nevertheless.

It will be the latest fashion accessory amongst the wealthy in Moscow, Dubai, Shanghai, Chelsea and New York.

Ever since i saw the spyshots, i thought the weird shapes and volumes were due to fake plastic panels to alter its real form, i also thought the headlights could only be fake ones. Everything actually was authentic and that's litteraly shocking. And man they have some balls to present it in this colour.

What is however very special is the fact the car has a tourbillon clock (Breitling) on it's dashboard. I like that, the technique I mean, the looks of it could be better

With a mother of pearl dial.... :/
It looks like a Chinese copy of a Breitling, to my eyes.

Also, the rear is terrible, even uglier than the already ugly Q7, which is too apparent on the design, as a whole.

Yes, unfortunately I fear this is what Bentley has been reduced to ...... a parvenu toy

Inevitably they will make a V8 version and that will be even more popular and considering how Volkswagen is so hell bent in becoming the largest automotive group in the world, I wouldn't be surprised if there is a V8 plug-in hybrid Bentayga already being developed.

I just love to picnic in the wilderness with my silverware and Vintage Dom.

Nothing special from this car, it don't look good and it don't look that bad either. Just very familiar Bentley design, nothing to shout out about. I am expecting something more for a Bentley first SUV. Maybe I shall wait for the second generation...
