Bentayga [Official] Bentley Bentayga

Big shocker (not really) ... Bentaygas are not moving well. These pictures don't quite capture how overstocked Manhattan Motorcars is; more than 20. All the folks who wanted Bentaygas have them already.

Whenever I drive there in my Range, there's always a salesman trying to propose a trade deal. But my friend knows better :D

Makes me wonder if we'll see the same effect with Rolls Cullinan.

It would be like trading Kate "duchess of Cambridge" Middleton for Kim Kardashian...

Was reading this post as a black Bentayga was rolling down my street, unfortunately it seems to be getting more and more popular in Sydney.

Compared to Bentayga the Cullinan production will be much more limited. Also Bentley made a classic mistake : boosting the production (from 3600 to 5500 units per year) due to huge initial demand - but which could wear off very quickly after the initial surge. Perhaps that has happened. Btw, RR doesn't practice that. The production iis constant & well planned so the sales stay high over the product's entire life cycle and the exclusivity is preserved. Also limitef special editions are offered to even boost the exclusivity.

Regarding the Bentayga stock in that particular NYC dealership: I'm sure they are also piling the stock before the Fall & Winter when such cars are much more in demand. Also due to bonuses people get in the end of the year.

As said many times before : NEVER generalize & make assumptions based on some local dealership situation. And even there you don't know what's going on and why the piling up.

Also, although most of such high - end & luxury cars are pre-ordered, there are some dealerships around the world (eg. NYC dealerships) when stock has to be available due to impulsive shoppers, especially @ the end of the year. It happens to all of the luxury brands.

Generalizations and assumptions? No. I visit the dealership a few times a month, their Bentayga stock has been high for about a year now. They've spoken candidly:stated that it's overpriced & VAG overestimated demand.

Sales associates are willing to bend over backwards to get them out the door. If it weren't for the the strict law prohibiting new cars from being sold to exporters, the situation would be different.

Most Bentley dealerships nationwide have close to 10 in stock, whereas it was initially forecasted that there would be an average of 3-5 in inventory, with other customers are placing orders.

Then Bentley / VAG just f***ed it up with 50+% annual production surge (3600 -> 5500), thinking the demand would be as high forever. Bad call!

Do they have a British Racing Green with black leather and walnut trim?

This thread surprises me none. This vehicle completely turns me on. 2017 Bentayga sales have been very slow compared to the last 6 months of last year.

Can't edit anymore, but meant to say "turns me off" not on.

The problem was that when VAG spoke of "sales", they meant sales and allocations. Not customer sales. No wonder Bentaygas are sitting in showrooms. I know the same is happening in the UK.

How well is the Bentagya doing in the UAE and China?

Oh boy, 2 Bentagyas like this came through Manhattan Motorcars. Please don't make this a trend.

Look how desperate the interior is to sell the $320k(!) Continental Speed. At least order is restored for the new generation Continental.

If you're buy this new right now, then I really don't know what to tell you... I'd probably offer to sell you a bridge.

The much, much improved new one is $100k cheaper. And this won't become a collector's item becuase the first Supersports version did not become a collector's item.

Nothing is worse than being ugly and overpriced. That is terrible.

I think Bentleys are unlikely to be daily drivers because too many miles are done in them and they are not scares.

Dynamically the new Cayenne will be an interesting rival as it will now have rear wheel steering and three chamber air suspension. The Porsche is very popular for its blend of comfort and ease of driving in corners and urban environments.

However compared with the Bentley, the Cayenne will be slightly on the back foot because of its lack of a turbo charged W12 that delivers effortless power. However a Turbo S Hybrid variant might be able to mimic the characteristics of the W12.

Are they still trying to make you trade in your RR for one?
What would make you cave in?
