TT Official: Audi TT-RS

The salesman at my dealer said the prestige would be the only version,he told me the titanium package would be an option as well, and he's normally on point. As for the magnectic ride that's definitly standard on the TTS on both the premium plus, and prestige package. The 1m might be cheaper, but the TTRS still offers more horses, and is nearly a second faster to 60.
In US trim (no 7-speed DKG), I would be surprised if it will be that fast. TT RS offers more horses, but 1M offers more torque. It would be interesting to see these two cars on the same dyno to confirm.

Maybe next time have a higher standard for "facts" than what a car dealer tells you? I don't know, just a suggestion...

Just going by the figures on the press release.

0-60 mph is not very intresting to be honest. Americans has always had this fixation about 0-60mph times :) Its the real world acceleration which are important, like engine flexibility. Anyway, you dont buy a TT-RS based on the 0-60 mph time.

That would only make it 0.1-0.4s faster than the 1M. Motor Trend did 4.2. C&D and edmunds both got 4.5.
According to their European specs, the TT-RS is 0.4s faster in 0-100 kph (4.5 vs 4.9 for the BMW). In the same day test by Auto Bild, the TT-RS was only 0.1s faster. I think the margin will probably be smaller than nearly a second.

Gearing any different between US and Euro?
The ratios inside the gearbox look the same as the one in the Sport Auto supertest. (The 6th gear printed in the US press release is an error. It should be 0.97 and not 0.097.) There is a possibility the final drive(s) could have different ratios, however.

Remove the limiters and the top speed is over 186mph. 0-60mph in 4.1 is easily achievable by the average driver. I can do a 0-60 in 3.9 secs without hard launching or dropping the clutch.

In the 1M's press release,it has a 0-60 time of 4.7 secs. I rounded off for both cars. Keep in mind that all test you brouht up have both cars rated with the same amount of horses which is no longer the case for the U.S. specd TTRS.

Lighter and more powerful
We've already heard rumors of an Audi TT-RS Plus, but new details are starting to emerge about the mysterious model.

According to Automobile France, the car will debut sometime next year with an upgraded 2.5-liter engine that develops 380 PS (283 kW / 385 hp). Additionally, the rear seats will be removed as part of a weight saving measure that will make the car 60 kg (132 kg) lighter than the standard model.

Besides the reduced weight and added performance, we can expect unique alloy wheels and a fixed rear wing.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
