Yes, finally a none -compromise'd sports version of the legendary
TT based on the ASF spaceframe, this WILL be a top notch vehicle
for the trendy people, I want the RS Roadsterversion, god bless Audi
and their new 5'r child! :icondrool Vorsprung Durch Technik

looks totally useless. This will rubbish no matter what because there are 2 scenario's:
- it looks like this because it is a true racer= rubbish on the road, useless
- It looks like a true racer but it isn't one= handles good but you look like a total git in something that looks like every tuned saxo.

and what the hell, since when have fixed spoilers ever been cool on anything under €200.000

^I think u need to calm down, the RR thread definitely got u already.

freedom of toughts man, I've been hearing that a lot. I really don't like this car, and I want to share that feeling.

^it's an easy fix, just put a bmw badge on it.

about the car, for me it doesn't look too different from the tt-s, for now.

So any Black Series car, CSL, or any super high perfomance car is also rubbish by that notion....

Ingolstadt – Audi is once again producing a five-cylinder powerhouse: the Audi TT RS will be unveiled to the world at the Geneva Auto Show. Its turbocharged 2.5-liter engine produces well above 300 bhp. It also delivers explosive acceleration, driving delight, and unrivalled sound.

A legend is reborn. After all, powerful five-cylinder gasoline engines have a long legacy at Audi. And the turbocharged direct-fuel-injection engine in the TT RS is the new torchbearer of this dynamic tradition. It enables the TT RS to perform extraordinary feats. For example, it needs nowhere near five seconds to reach 100 km/h (62.14 mph); overtaking is child’s play; and 250 km/h (155.34 mph) is the limited top speed only on paper.

The quattro permanent all-wheel drive system, a sophisticated chassis, and stupendous brakes keep a tight rein on the power. All in all, the compact TT RS – with its lightweight and largely aluminum body constructed as per the Audi Space Frame principle – is a driving machine to be reckoned with.

Additional information will be available during the Audi Press Conference at the Geneva Auto Show on March 3, 2009 (Hall 1, Booth 1060).

Great :usa7uh:

That's close to the sound the Audi S2 Avant had which I drove in the mid 90s. So good to hear the sound of a 5-cyl Audi again (even it will beat my Cayman S' ass :D).

This is not a BMW thread. Get over it people.

I wonder how much this thing is going to cost. Probably much more than a Cayman S. Afterall its a RS.

In Germany the price of the base TT S is 45.400 EUR (including tax). The price of a base Cayman S is around 65k EUR. Probably the TT RS will be priced around 55k EUR?

Too cheap IMO. Its a RS. I say same as Cayman S or slightly above. At least in Sweden.

The RS4 (V8, 420 HP) sedan was around 70k. I don't think that the TT (I or VR 5, more than 300 HP) will cost the same. My guess - TT RS Cabrio (when it will come out) will cost 5k less than a Boxster S. Otherwise Porsche intervenes.

Edit: I am wondering if this is based on VWs VR5 layout?

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
