TT Official: Audi TT-RS

Z4 Alpina Roadster S did the N-ring in 8.15 min. Audi R8 did it in 8.04 min.
I think the TT-RS will be around the same time as the Z4 Alpina, 8.13-8.15 min.

The RS4 B7 did the ring in 8.09, so it will be interesting how the TT-RS can match that. Audi engineers did magic with the RS4, R8, S3, S4, TT-S and now hopefully the TT-RS

Question is. Will the TT-RS be equipped with R-tires or not?

Those Audi's have a lot of very desirable qualities, but I don't see anything magical about the ring times of those Audi's.

I think its just an expression but who knows, maybe Audi did use a magic wand :D

Just as I expected :)

And as we all know, Audi are very generous with their latest numbers (4.6 for the R8 4.2 became 4.1-4.5 in all the tests, and 4.5 for RS6 Sedan which became (4.1-4.3) in all the tests), so, I expect 4.3-4.5 for the TT-RS!

4.3-4.5 sounds really great and the car is really good looking.
But it will be as expensive as M3...
In Germany TTS coupe starts at 45.000 EU for the coupe and 48.000 for the cabrio... I think that 70 ps more and RS badge will cost at least 10.000 EU more. It's even possible the price of the coupe to start from 60k and the cabrio around 65k...
I'll be definitely going for the cabrio if I was going to buy a TT RS :)
But now the M3 is starting to sound as the best offer for me :)
With the M3, the Z4 and the TT RS on the market it'll be a hard decission...

Some real life shots, notify me if you can't see them. The spoiler looked all right in the press shots but it's utterly dreadful in real life. I guess it was very difficult for the designers to come up with ways of improving the divinely gorgeous TT-S

Crap! the spoiler is indeed horrible, why can't we just get a TT-S type spoiler?:D

You do not have to have the solid spoiler. There is an option to have a retractable soiler if the solid one does not suit your taste. I think it is clever of Audi to let it's customers choose

Audi overdone it with footballing celebrities again at the press conference @ Geneva.

In Europe Audi endorse soccer players and in the US Mercedes endorse American football players. I've seen some dudes on cribs with just Mercs on their driveway. I can see semi-experienced football agents driving this car in Milan.

Ah yes but the Manchester United one went over to see the new Bentley.;)

When I was in London I was reading something in my hotel called "Heat" magazine celebrity gossip crap - miracle new diet and they only weighed 9 stone to begin with? and it mentions that the most popular car that nearly all top class footballers and their wives in (One was giving an interview on how the credit crunch has stopped her buying clothes worth twenty thousand pounds but only spent ten thousand pounds only - poor dear!) the UK have the Bentley Continental GT.

That's highly correct, the Bentley CGT is indeed a highly popular daily driver amongst Premier league footballers. Not only them fancy the car but bankers absolutley love it as well. There are three critical levels of career acheivments in London.

Range Rover Sport - Congrats on unlocking the first level of London living. You now got a certified "good" job and officially have a career.

Bentley Continental GT - Now you're living THE london life and have financially power to get 21 year old aspiring WAGs into the bed by waving your keys.

RR Phantom - You're a serious dude and the streets are yours.

Those and the S-class are the four most iconic cars in London. It might also be worth noting the although Land Rover only manufacturer expensive SUVs, they outsold other car manufacturers here in the UK last year. VW deserve much praise for the Continental GT since it's so common here it almost blend in to traffic with the Mondeo, an absolute major success.

Sadly this RS version will end up a very high cost item for VW as I can't see many people buying it since the TT-S is a much more beautiful car, plus the lack or heritage or racing pedigree. The spoiler is silly as a 16 year old boy trying to impress girls by acquiring a 600kg Yamaha racing bike.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
