A1 quattro have more power but less torque and S1 have newer engine and maybe little lighter. S1 is just 0.1 sec slower to 100 kph. Maybe RS1 never arrives that's why they make S1 more than should be.

You may be right. I suspect an RS1 would use S3 engine and have at least 300hp. As S1 released as facelift I think unfortunately there is probably not enough time in the life cycle of this generation to see RS1. But who knows?

Loving the red S1 3 door version though. Tempted to get it just on looks alone. Happy to see Audi advertise 'Quattro' more too. Such an important part of Audi and we are now seeing BMW and MB utilise AWD more so good to see Audi let public know Audi are the AWD boys with the heritage and argued use for its utilisation in performance cars

I have to also point out something. I really don't understand why Audi didn't keep the sacred "S1" name and didn't use it on any of their cars. They did the A1 Quattro, and they should just make an "RS1". The name "S1" is too special. It has too much history. There is already many pics circulating on Instagram, where you see a picture of the original S1, saying "This is the real S1!" and then you see a pic of the new S1 saying "This is shit!". I feel that the little sporty A1 will have "haters" just because it's named "S1"... Thoughts?

I wonder if you can get the colour matching seat backs, stitching, air vents and front light inserts in sepang blue. Think I'm sold then. I'm liking this car more each day. Think Audi are on to a winner with this just hope it drives well. Mini JCW is an excellent driving machine.

In regards to 'S1' name use it doesn't bother me in the slightest. 'S1 Quattro' would however. Audi's naming strategy is good and it was logical this car would be called the S1. Audi have indicated a 'Sports Quattro' will be built to fit between TT and R8 so get with 'Today' I say and don't focus on a car that was for rallying.

I'm not sensitive. Just been reading a lot of negativ posts from you lately.And about the picture, I don't see nothing wrong with it. And that is coming from a person that works with photoshop and photography 5 hours per day.

What ARE you talking about?! Read my bloody post!! I never said there was ANYTHING wrong with the photo!! The photo is very good!! I was purely making a joke about the temperature display showing -1 degrees in the instrument binnacle!!

Ι wonder if it will redefine the hot-hatch segment, a segment that was formed by the Clio RS, Fiesta St and their likes. BMW's top-of-the-line 1er hatch tried hard, but ultimately failed to redefine the hot-hatch as an RWD premium product. The A45 AMG also tries but it's too soon to tell. Maybe with the S1?

I don't see how you can lump the M135i in with other hot hatches, it's a completely different bread and attracts a different kind of buyer, the A45 AMG is also in another league price wise so doesn't compete either. It's competition will arrive when Audi builds an RS3.
