Q7 [Official] Audi Q7

^I like the bland styling. Only thing is a feel it looks a little too much like a station wagon, maybe it'll look more imposing in black....

It's those contiguous air vent slats. They're ok-ish (actually, not even) inside a Passat but they don't exude a premium look in the Q7 interior. And they're prone to collecting dust - how on earth are you expected to keep them clean?

Quickest fix ever, Audi: retrofit a solid surface insert and be done. Oh, and you can even keep the chrome insert through a contrasting material.

I also think the massive, protuding center console around gearshift looks out of place... Does it double as a chess board?

I always use a brush (for painting, works really well :D )

Sure Klier, a painting brush......

That RS Q7 looks like an RS6 with high heels on!:):ROFLMAO:

Fascinatingly Vivid: Audi Brings 3D Sound into the Car Beginning with New Q7

  • Audio experience with a third dimension redefines the benchmark
  • Going into production in 2015 with Bang & Olufsen and Bose sound systems
  • 3D effect based on intelligent calculation algorithm
A three-dimensional audio experience worthy of the sound lab: Audi makes this vision a reality. 3D sound, which will shortly be going into production use, also enables the listener to experience spatial height. The addition of the third dimension makes the acoustic impression even clearer and more vivid. This rich audio experience redefines the benchmark for in-car listening pleasure.

For many years, the brand with the four rings has been renowned for establishing new milestones in sound quality time and time again. The latest technology, 3D sound, will be making its debut in the Audi Q7* in 2015. It is available as a component of the Advanced Sound System from Bang & Olufsen and also of Bose Surround Sound. At its core is a complex algorithm that calculates the control signals for each speaker swiftly and precisely. Audi developed it for the Bang & Olufsen system in partnership with the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits in Erlangen.

In the first stage of the process, the software breaks the data for the music source down into its spatial components. It does this by using the spatial information contained in the data. For example, when an artist is singing from a stage, the floor, ceiling and walls of the concert hall reflect the sound with different time lapses. It bounces off the floor in just a few milliseconds, while it is only reflected by a wall 40 meters (131.2 ft) away after more than 200 milliseconds. Using these different sonic reflections, the algorithm is able to calculate a mathematical model of any recording room. It is irrelevant whether the audio signal is recorded in mono, stereo or 5.1 Surround Sound. The data format of the music and its source – such as online streaming, VHF radio or CD – is equally irrelevant.

The second stage of the process involves reassembling the sound portions so that the sound pattern inside the car corresponds to the original recording room. This calls for intensive calculations. In the Bang & Olufsen Advanced Sound System, the digital signal processor energizes 11 channels with a total of 23 speakers in such a way that the sound is equally precise and harmonious in every seat. Four speakers installed in the A‑posts and each supplied along their own channels broadcast the portions that generate the spatial height. Newly developed speakers such as a subwoofer enlarged from 200 millimeters (7.9 in) to 250 millimeters (9.8 in) and a new amplifier now with an output of 1,920 watts guarantee listening enjoyment of the very highest caliber. The Bose Surround Sound system, which generates the surround sound with 20 speakers, also features four speakers located higher up to generate the third dimension.

With 3D sound, Audi keeps up its tradition of breaking new ground in the hi‑fi sector. 2005 saw the advent of high‑end sound in the Audi A8* with the Bang & Olufsen Advanced Sound System. The Danish hi‑fi specialist’s premium sound reached the compact category in 2012, when it first featured in the third‑generation Audi A3*. The new Audi TT* took a major step towards 3D sound in 2014 with the adoption of Symphoria technology, software again developed in partnership with the Fraunhofer Institute for the processing and reproduction of audio signals.

They shouldn't brand those plastic speakers with B&O... looks cheap. Rather leave them plastic with no branding, and only maybe some branding on the speaker covers that are finished in aluminium.

Cabin looks fresh, daring and precisely engineered also minimalistic.

The exterior looks totally out of proportion. One HUGE, bloated A6 Avant. :dead: Burbbbb!!!!
Edit: Glasshouse is taller-than-tall, why not just stick to Panoramic roofs for airiness?

First fugly Audi since the previous Q7. The rest of the range is bloody awesome.(y) Especially the A3 sedan, drove one as a Europcar rental...stunning!

Audi revealed the second generation of Q7 couple of weeks back. Usually, luxury manufacturer take some time to bring the new generation models to India as the volume is very low compared to the European market. But Audi has brought the new Q7 for homologation process in India. The Q7 spotted is completely covered except for the front head lamps and tail lamps. Audi India earlier announced that they will launch 10 products in 2015 and the Q7 will be one of the model.

The current generation Q7 is very famous in India as the celebrities and business people like the spacious and comfortable ride. The new Q7 is built on the MQB platform, the extensive use of steel and aluminum in the chassis which makes it weight just 1995 kgs, some of the body parts of the Q7 is a mix of aluminum and steel to further reduce the weight. The new Q7 is shorter and narrower than the outgoing model while the height is the same, but Audi engineers have managed to get more space in the cabin.

Audi Q7 is available with a 3.0 L TDI engine in two outputs of 272 HP and 600 NM of torque, 218 HP & 500 NM of torque. The 3.0 L TFSI engine produces 333 HP of power and 400 NM of torque. 0-100 kmph takes 6.1 seconds and topspeed is 250 kmph. But we are not expecting the hybrid diesel model to be introduced this year. Audi will launch the second generation Q7 by the end of 2015 and the Q7 will be assembled in India.

The interior is growing on me. I still hate the huge air vents, but the rest is nice. I would change the door panels too. Way too simple.

The interior is a big NO still.

Interior ... Plastic buttons! Plastic air vents! Plastic "air-vent-trim". Lots of plastic! :banghead: Audi, what's going on? :D:p

Exterior ... completely worth of this comment: :poop:

Second row of seats look very uncomfortable. Maybe it is just because the car is configured as a 7 seater. In this color the car looks immensely ugly.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932.
