Q7 [Official] Audi Q7

In this color the car looks immensely ugly.

I think it is the other way around - On this car, the color looks immensely ugly... and so will any other color. I don't know wtf Audi was thinking.

This car is awful. Looks like an ugly station wagon. I'm sure it will still sell well, but the long plastic ribbed fake vents are already very dated.

The giant front grill looks just as hideous and tacky as ever, perhaps the new generation of buyers will find that appealing?

Live photos of the Q7 looks much better. Of course looks much better on the street.

The styling is too conservative and at same time controversial cause it looks more like a pumped up A6 Avant than a SUV like the previous model (much more attractive in my opinion). Interior looks nice in some ways, I like the TFT multi info instrument counter, the nice graphics and look of MMI display but air vents are terrible and make the top bit of the dash look too plasticky and remind me too much of the VW Passat interior, the cup holders look plasticky and out of place in the nice quality look center console and the door panels look a bit bland as it has only a small piece of wood trim on the top corner section of the door.

Audi can't even manage to give a good first impression of the car. They show their most important and most prestigious SUV in bright blue, but even that can't save this Q7. The car looks so dull, lacks any kind of emotion and seriously looks like the designers sucked every bit of SUV of its soul. Audi has a lot to make up for with the 3rd gen Q7.

Perfect conclusion IMHO. Maybe the humdrum design language (taking in consideration it competes with the ML, X5, LR Disco Sport, Range Rover, *VW Touareg, *Porsche Cayenne and Certain Toyota models depending which market etc.) was intended to be 'clean' and 'conservative' on purpose? I like the uncluttered, clean lines of the cabin. It's neat and all but fussy. The design outside is clean but 'blah'. And it will appeal to a certain crowd (maybe China was the main drive behind the direction?) Either way it lacks any butch-ness and typical VAG design - so I guess that's VAG for the foreseeable future ;)

We have to keep in mind that if there is one company with as many brands as VAG and as many *SUV offerings from different brands within the group, it's easy to make and do as you like. Herr Piech!:playful:

I'm already getting fed up with that '-325kg' marketing. I mean it's a nice accomplishment, but do they really have to shout it from the rooftops? Such a weight reduction shouldn't be much of a big deal for a premium brand like Audi, so I'd rather see a discrete attitude about it. Undoubtly what Audi needs way more than lighter cars right now is a serious reorganisation of their design department.

I'd hate for the Q7 to run over my footie. It would really hurt and I would probably hit the deck. Hook up a trailer though and I bet it's got excellent pulling power.

Very clever, I made a small correction to make it perfect!
And bravo for the connection, it's most probably true.

Surprising to find out this was the S-Line, the sporting version.
Which this needs to be asked? How bland is the standard version?

A comparison of the old & new Q7 is just heartbreaking. The old Q7 looks so much more robust and impressive, and is unmistakably an SUV.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
