A7/S7/RS7 Official: Audi A7

Rumour has it that Audi are under consumer pressure to offer the A5SB with three rear seatbelts, if this happens like it has with the Passat CC then there is a very good chance the A7 will receive the same treatment.

Really? So the Passat CC began life as a 4 easter but eventually got an additional seatbelt?

Yes, consumer pressure forced Volkswagen to reconsider their position on this and you now can purchase the CC as a five seater. I can't tell you for sure whether Audi will follow the same course of action but they too are coming under pressure in the same manner.

It's lack of a fifth seat is the reason I'm in an S4 Avant at the moment instead of an S5SB.

Adding a third seatbelt would be bad business for the A4 sedan which would find itself cannibalised by a 5 seater A5 SB. One reason VW added a seatbelt to the VW Passat might be because they found out that owners were squeezing three passangers on to the rear bench. To be honest, the padded section between the two outer seats invite someone to sit in the middle.

The best way to prevent people from sitting in the middle is by installing a seat divider as seen in the CLS and Rapide.

I waited a while before I commented this.

I was never a fan of the A7 plans. Never liked the concept, and I really hoped that they wouldn't make this hunchback. But.. I guess that the market demands this, and after the ugly Panamera, 5er GT and some other weird cars... its time for this. I do like the front, and I love the interior. But... what that rear represents.... I dont know. I dont like it, would never buy such a car, and I pray to God that they make a normal sexy 4 door coupé. Cause this is not it!

IMO the S4 A is much better looking than S5 SB. At your place I'd keep the S4 A and wait for RS4 A. I just do not see the purpose of A5 SB and A7 SB.

The S-line looks quite beautiful I must say. The ony problem I have is the side profile. The car looks awesome from the front and from the back, only the 3/4 angle of the back is not so good imo. And I don't really like the interior; there's not much German to it imo...

Watched it at the weekend. It's alright! Not as good as the first and best with Arnie Though. Inception is the film at moment to see absolutely brilliant.

Yeah, definiely going to see Inception. Looks awesome, and will be the summer hit of 2010 I think..

Genade! Dutchman...can't believe my own two eyes, you have seen something good in the A7:D Nah, the design looks nothing different from other Audi's and the rear is sagging imo. I did like the interior, now you have made a point I will agree with, it's ergonomically sound and looks sporty whilst lacking (from what I can see) 'typical Audi' tactile quality (if there is such a thing) BUT yes it lacks German finesse
:t-cheers:

If there was even a small chance I'd buy Audi, the RS5 wins hands down over all their offerings.

I´m starting to really like this car. The only part that disapoints me is the interior, wich is a bit boring IMO. But the overall exterior design is really growing on me. I think it´s got more personality than some other competitors as the Rapide or the BMW 6er GC.

With the S-Line pack or some nice rims it will be a stunner.

Starting with the S line sport trim, this package adds a taut sport suspension that drops the A7’s ride height by 10mm, and 19-inch wheels wrapped in 255/40 R19 rubber or optionally, 20-inch rims with 265/35 R20 tires.
It also upgrades the A7 Sportback’s interior with sport seats draped in a combination of black leather and alcantara or in full leather with an embossed S line logo on the back, as well as a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel trimmed in perforated leather and brushed aluminum accents on the dashboard, center console and door panels.

I completely agree with you. There is no reason in this world why Audi couldn't build a four door coupe with out building a hunchback.

^^ Holy transformation, Batman! Had to check the first page again to see that it really is (somewhat) the same interior. It still seems a bit of a mess but it's a pretty mess. Quite simplistic button layout. I doubt that CLS could top that interior.

S-line version might actually turn my head :usa7uh:

I think the centre console looks insanely similar to BMWs, like where the HiFi and aircon, that whole segment.. but overall the interior is something special.
Nothing appeals me with the exterior, i'd prefer the A5. well, it's just a weird version of A5. Against competitors, i think the Porsche looks much better, at least the shape is their traditional shape, while the BMW 5GT has its practical values, looking weird trading off for the functionality. This - i don't know why.. people would buy it because it's weird because it'd catch peoples' eyes.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
