It looks much better in these photos. But even so, if that's the S-line with the sexy V-spoke alloys, exactly how dull and frumpy are the base variants with base line alloy wheels going to look?

For an S-line package it conveys zero sense of aggression or athleticism. Audi's were once masterful at this.

It's been a few days now, and I finally can say my opinion.

I won't use the word uninspired for this design. The design is inspired, but this happened back in 2001 with the B6. The inspiration then ended and Audi were just facelifting the A4 ever since. I'll call this inoffensive.

The A4 being inoffensive doesn't ring any bells for me. The exterior looks like it's 2008 all over again, yet with even less impressive headlights.

The interior is undeniably good, yet nowhere near my taste. I'm very sure tactile quality will be very high, it's just not my cup of tea.

Where the A4 shines is as a package. It's possibly the most complete one in its segment. Good looks, tons of equipment, great engines. But it's even more politically correct than the Passat and that's too much for me.

The C-Class goes for a striking mix of luxury with some sport and definitely lots of freshness, while the 3er maintains this sharp sporty approach that can't be overshadowed, no matter how much beige leather and light wood you use. The A4, well, it's politically correct and therefore, not my cup of tea.

They've been facelifting the A4 since before it was even called the A4, when Audis where AWD Volkswagens, wait, they still are.

I do like the Audi a lot though. It's as Audi-sh as it's ever been.

Refreshing vehicles for the 'New Generation' of the vehicle seems to be a common theme now in the German camp. BMW has done it with the new7 series, X5 and X6. Audi With the A4.

I think this is going to become an ongoing thing.

Absolutely, and I'll have to drive the car to see how it feels before I give my final verdict on the car, but Audi had the opportunity to really 'wow' everyone like Mercedes did with the W205 C Class. I'm not sure of the B7's sales numbers, but could it have been good enough where Audi just didn't want to mess with a good thing?

Perhaps it is of consolation that those who have actually seen the car maintain that its' stance is quite impressive, objectively as well as subjectively lower and wider than its' rivals from Munich and Stuttgart. It allegedly appears "wider tracked and more hunkered down". Fine, I reckon.

Admittedly, Audi took a very safe stylistic route on this car. Whether it is too safe will soon be determined in terms of its' sales figures. Solely based on the "pride of ownership, "gaze" factor", the choice would be tough for me between the B9 A4 and the F30 BMW 3 series. Save the C63s' or the AMG Sport Package models, I cannot bring myself to like the W205 C-Class. In its' most pedestrian configuration, I actually find it a homely automobile.

New Audi RS4 Looks Sensational in Latest Renderings

Automotive renderer Theophilus Chin has just released a couple of renderings of the upcoming next-gen AudiRS4 Avant. The release of these images come not long after X-Tomi Design rendered the car as well.

In creating the following renderings, Chin has taken obvious design inspiration from the crazy Audi A3 Clubsport Quattro Concept unveiled last year. Consequently, a very similar front end is featured with a matte grey front splitter and matte grey air intake inserts. The obligatory new side skirts, wheels, rear bumper and diffuser of all RS models are also present.


To make way for the new Audi A4 range, the German marque revealed to GTspirit recently that production of the outgoing RS4 Avant, RS5 Coupe and RS5 Cabriolet will end in July.

Whenever the new Audi RS4 Avant debuts, it is tipped to ditch the current car’s 4.0-litre naturally-aspirated V8 in favour of a turbocharged six-cylinder.

LEDs are legal in the USA. I believe it's LASER lights you're thinking of.

In these Photoshopped images, sure. In real life it will be like all other VAG cars with this solution, which is far more obvious.
