The All-new Mercedes-AMG SL (R232)

Almost 70 years ago, a sports car launched in Stuttgart immediately became a legend. The vision of expanding the potential of the Mercedes-Benz brand through motor racing successes produced the first SL as a result - a road-going racing sports car. Shortly after its début in 1952, the 300 SL (internal designation W 194) reaped success after success on the race tracks of the world. In its first year, it achieved, among other things, a spectacular one-two victory in the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans and even took the first four places in the Nürburgring Grand Jubilee Prize for sports cars. Its successes quickly make the SL a legend.

I don't understand how Aston can have complicated sales making cars like this, I would like to believe that it happens more elsewhere, little presence in some markets, distribution, I don't know...

The Portofino's electric hardtop is a big plus point in my opinion, two cars in one
It is difficult to decide knowing that now they are quite similar in price

Their cars just aren't as good as the competition. They never boast class leading performance, their tech is often dated, and the overall engineering has always lagged behind the Germans and now the Italians, but it was always excused due to their beauty. Ditto for Jaguar and Maserati. All sultry cars, but take away the looks and sound and they're naked.

Thanks for describing a typical British car manufacturer. Post-VAG Bentley is an exception off course.

Oh the irony of it all - German (and other foreign nations) ownership of Great Britain's car industry.

Yesterday I sat in a fully loaded SL 63 (€ 200.000 +). I’m still speechless and am absolutely flabbergasted. What a car! Forget all the talk about quality issues regarding the interior. Top notch quality wherever you look or touch, you feel extremely rich and you can’t help sitting in there with a smile from ear to ear. We’ve got a true winner here, ladies and gentlemen.

That’s a big endorsement from you.

Well this is how a SL or any Mercedes should be and make you feel. It used to in everything they made...years ago.
