Giulia [Official] Alfa Romeo Giulia

The Alfa Romeo Giulia is a compact executive car produced by Alfa Romeo. Known internally as the Type 952, it was unveiled in June 2015, with market launch scheduled for February 2016, and it is the first saloon offered by Alfa Romeo after the production of the 159 ended in 2011.
Man, you do look anxious with such a lenghty post. Relax, all will be good! I know, I daily drive a 4C. ;)

I can see the expectation is off the roof now... but that's what the marketing is there for.

Yes, "any publicity is good publicity." However, where FIAT/FCA has been downright notorious with delaying Alfa's release in the US via their "159-replacement" the Giulia (sorry, the 4C and 8C do not count due to such a small volume) for so many years, people's patience can be stretched so much. There's a point all that goodwill will run out. With that said, I can understand people's suspicions about the N-ring time as a way to keep the Giulia in consciousness.

I was getting the impression that in this forum all people cared about was the regular Joe's JTD M-jet Giulia version... ;)

The "regular joe" versions are more important than the Quadro versions, mostly because its their sales volume that will sustain Alfa's existence. I am excited about the Quadrofoglio as well because I am curious and confident it will hold its own, especially with expertise from Ferrari's engineers. What annoys me as an enthusiast and a potential future Alfa owner is the constant announcements and the eventual delays that seem part of FCA's business practice. Posting record times and performance figures are nice, but when the on-sale dates keep getting pushed back, there's bound to be backlash.

I plan to buy a new car within the next 6 months, unless, The Giulia, is available in the States , and starting in the low $30k, then I would consider, otherwise, I would go for the W205.

Let's lay back, relax and wait what Alfa brings on the table, in terms of Guilia QV performance...
Will be interessting as ///M is introducing F8x Competition in 2016, too. Following the rumours this time the comp package not only contains suspension tuning but power upgrade also.
Since the F8x already did a 7:52 in the hands of a motor journalist on normal tires, many expect, that the F8x comp update is able to pull out times around 7:45 easily ... again with standard tires and in the hands of a talented journalist, who can only do a few laps with the car.
My bet: Under comparable conditions (driver, tires, weather) the Giulia is not any faster than the F8x comp. Regardless what numbers Alfa puts on fancy displays. :)

Don't be annoyed! FWIW, I'm sure that FCA's business practice isn't as bad as cheating on emission tests, not even remotely, and yet people here don't seem to care as much...

Hmmm....old by the time it launches. Such an odd reveal...

Why on earth would Alfa waste money in F1 when they can't even get cars to market on time? I love their cars and heritage but they're the shittest businessmen around. F1 costs millions and that money would be well spend elsewhere. FCA doesn't have the spare money to do F1!!!!

My understanding is that they are just slapping their name on somebody else's engine, but I could be wrong. My understanding of what is going on in F1 these days is pretty terrible.

Though, IF they are planning on entering F1 in a more involved fashion, well, that's monumentally dumb. Let's see some world-class cars on the street first.

Wrong move to go in F1 cause Ferrari already there and people associate Alfa as part of Ferrari and Fiat group.

This car looks fantastic in the brochure and certainly has the technical and visual clout to be a serious rival for the M3 and C63 but the quality and reliability are questionable.

Strange the technical specs don't mention the cars weight.

If they entered F1 they would likely do so my becoming the title sponsor of Haas. It could cost them £20-30m which is less than £150-200m/year required for setting up and running a team.

BMW M4 GTS Nurburgring time: 7:28 minutes... is there any evidence of that lap time?!

Question asked, answer given: 7:27,88 min.(y)

Alfa Romeo, you can't get away without a similar vid now. Bring it on... Christmas present!:spinstar:

The M4 GTS is 11 sec faster than the Giulia QV around the ring, some achievement!
