M3/M4 [Official] 2021 BMW M3 and M4 [G80 & G82]

The BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the BMW 3 Series, developed by BMW's in-house motorsport division, BMW M GmbH. M3 models have been produced for every generation of 3 Series since the E30 M3 was introduced in 1986. The BMW M4 is a high-performance version of the BMW 4 Series automobile developed by BMW's motorsport division, BMW M, that has been built since 2014. As part of the renumbering that splits the coupé and convertible variants of the 3 Series into the 4 Series, the M4 replaced those variants of the BMW M3. Official website: BMW M

First impression, initial impression = they're both ugly AF. Few mins later I can tolerate the M3 over the M4, for now.

I really REALLY wanted to like this iteration... sorry BMW, you’ve clearly lost the plot. I don’t get why you are so desperately trying to appease the boy racer crowd.

look at how understated VAG and Daimler are compared to the garish and ugly designs you are forcing onto us.

yuk!

This was not subtle...

.. and the idea was to homologate a race car.

I think your description is far better fitting of the M5.

"Subtle" wasn't cool in the 80s'.

Audis' committed to its' electric initiative. That's good, I reckon. Audis' been "on and off" with regard to its' more recent exterior/interior designs. Audis' interior assembly and material quality has diminished.
It is expected, that in September, in its home market (Germany), the BMW 3er will be outsold by the Tesla Model III. Which should be a clear sign in which direction the things are going to develop.

Well I could start and write a whole essay here, but I am going to keep it nice and simple for now:

FUGLY. FFFFFFFFugly

That bent hood shutline has got to be one of the ugliest I have ever seen. And then that snout in between, mixed with those gigantic featureless blobs called headlights!

My Lord I feel like crying. How to butcher the G20 101.
This!!! And the G20 is a handsome brute! Wtf BMW!!!! You give us the likes of the E31,38,39, 92, G30 and then this???

I somehow cannot escape the suspicion that "something's going on" between Tesla and VAG.

I was holding out hope that changes to the M3 grill and front-end would salvage something approaching acceptable with this new and drastic change in design language. So much for hope, what a shame.

Please bear with us while we do some thread management to bring in posts from the lead up thread into this one. This one is open for discussion.

The green of the M3 is a magnificent color, the yellow is not bad either, CFRP buckets seats of superhyper cars in a normal saloon and coupe is a great move, very radical in line with the aggressive grills, and those widened fenders are a poem .

I am struck by how well fit the grill to the M3 and I would love to see the M4 with the M3 wheels (not black).
This M3 and M4 are as I wish they were for a long time, out of the ordinary, so aggressive that many find it difficult to understand them, seeing them in person must be crazy. I wanted radicalism and they gave me much more than I expected

Smth is wrong with this part:

Shooo........front on both looks dreadful....shite

Both M4 and M3 have too much gap between tyres and wheelarch especially the front wheels. The rear of the M3 looks fantastic but the front is yuck and the M4 has lost the flares on both front and rear arches compared to the gorgeous previous model. Those new side curtain slim intakes on the front bumper dont look as nice as the previous huge open intakes on the previous M4.

I would take both old M3 and M4 models over these thank you.

Note to members: posts after the initial leak of official pics in the Spied! thread have now been moved here for continuity sake.

I will have this please.

Hmmm, the grill as spec'd there actually looks worse to me than the one on the new M's. I really don't like the blacked out surrounds.

... and an Alpina without stripes is like sex without another person.

First ever "we put blinkers on the seats so you never ever have to touch the stalk again."

For me, one of the very finest BMW coupes-ever.
It's untouchable - hood shutline and all - and even better than the E36 and E46 coupé M3's.
That said, it's in the past now. Time to move on, regardless...

The looks aren't for everyone and I'm convinced the front is still ugly.
What can't be denied is that, what these things lack in beauty, they make up for in presence. That M3 looks unbelievable - supercar-like levels of aggression in a sedan - and I prefer it to the coupé. It was the other way round for me with F80 and F82. F82 will forever be :smilieheart: :eye8: :hearts2:.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
