4 Series (G22) [Official] 2020 BMW 4 Series (G22)


The second generation of the BMW 4 Series consists of the G22 (coupé version), G23 (convertible version), and G26 (5-door liftback version, marketed as the Gran Coupé) compact executive cars. The G22 4 Series was launched in June 2020 for the 2021 model year and succeeds the F32 4 Series. Production: 2020–
Something more inline with the 3.0 CSL grille-wise would perhaps be the sweet spot for the LCI. Still big but toned down and less beaver.

Not getting my hopes up though; the 4er is probably selling well enough for BMW to keep this grille for the sake of pride or however you want to call it.
I'm optimising. BMW's main job is to simplify the front end. There is too much going on: lines/creases everywhere, grille that doesn't match the slats on the bumper intake and headlights that don't gel with the line.

IMO, it needs a full front bumper redesign. The X3 and 3-Series facelifts are spot on.

Its different way, and its differents between the i4 and 4GC too. I think the i4 different grill shape makes it to the best looking 4-series.

Why? Cause people buy it? What will people buy instead? The ancient A5? The CLE? No chance.

The front remains much worse than the 8er one. Most of my friends who have owned a 3er Coupe or a 4er, believe the front of this car is silly. So, besides the tipical brand warriors on the internet boards, I believe there is a wide consensus about the car’s looks.

The direction where BMW’s exterior design is heading tells you what went wrong with this car’s design.

They could have succumbed to interweb chatter and made it far more conservative. But they didn’t. They stood their ground and said no. It’s more or less the benchmark of the segment. The A5 and C-Coupe came later. It’s a brave decision, but BMW are the most risk-averse when it comes to designing for the mainstream.
