I would say the South African-made 745i from the E23 generation was the most "enthusiasts" 7er ever. At risk of repeating what's probably been written elsewhere on this forum, it had the M1's M88 24v 3.5l, and it could be had in manual as well. What a car!A genuinely beautiful car in its' day. It, along with the E38, made the most authentic, enthusiast-oriented "BMW statement" of all 7ers.
