3 Series (F30) [Official] BMW F30 3-Series LCI [2015-2019]

The sixth generation of the BMW 3 Series consists of the BMW F30 (sedan version), BMW F31 (wagon version, marketed as 'Touring') and BMW F34 (fastback version, marketed as 'Gran Turismo') compact executive cars. The F30/F31/F34 generation was produced from October 2011 to 2019 and is often collectively referred to as the F30. For the sixth generation, the coupé and convertible models were spun off to create the new BMW 4 Series nameplate.
Had a very brief drive in my friends 330i today, the build quality is actually a little bit better than the C class. The balance between ride and handling is perfectly judged. Can't say much about the engine and power delivery though because the car is still being run in.

Why didn't you tell him that the new one is around the corner before he buys this now? :P

The only 3-Series to avoid, if you like to drive enthusiastically is the SE/Luxury on standard suspension and seats. In corners the body rolls is laughably bad. When my GF was pregnant almost slid out of the passenger seat anytime I took a corner or roundabout as moderate speeds.

Some owners even went to the extend of upgrading the anti-roll bars.

This one has the full M sports package, initial impression is good, the ride is definitely a few degrees less edgy than my C class.

I had an M-Sport 4-Series GC as a loaner once and it was an absolute blast to drive.

What a brilliant symbol of driving pleasure. However 18 inch non-flats would have made it more pliant over broken roads than the 19s it had.

This one is on some pretty serious discount, for a almost fully optioned 330i, he paid less than a standard C 200 ;).

Deals on the F30 are very good now. Getting 30-40% off list isn’t hard. Surprisingly discounts on the G30 are already generous.

Indeed, now I want to have another drive in the car.

BMW Australia at least needed to do something about the 3 series sales here, it is constantly being outsold by the C class about 2.5 times to 1.

You have had a taste of a different apple and are now mitten. hehehe

In the future you could always buy an M-Sport 3 or 4 series as a second car. Used ones are cheap and they will get even cheaper ones the G20 has launched.

A few years ago I bought an approved used three years old F30 and put 14,000 miles in a year. I lost very little money selling and a dealer then sold it within a week for the same price as I had bought it.

True..here in Cairo a locally assembled fully loaded M pack 340i costs the same as imported C180 AMG!..even the most hardcore MB fans would choose the 340i here.

Managed to do a quick back to back drive...the 3 series is the better daily car, more compliant suspension setting and progressive damping, noticeably better infotainment system, but the C class has an edge on noise suppression. What do you guys think?

As an allrounder the 3-Series has always been hard to beat. If driving engagement isn't the number one priority, the C-Class is an excellent alternative that looks more expensive in certain specifications.

The C class is still fun to drive, I like the sharp steering response but I just wish the suspension setting is a little less firm, or perhaps I should throw away those run flat tires.

Most car manufacturers struggle suspension. The standard one is either too soft and the sport one too jarring an uncomfortable. Big alloys designed to improve showroom appeal provide little benefit. Audis sport suspension is not great either but acceptable if you stick to smaller alloy sizes.

The timing for changing to non-runflats isn't ideal as you have ordered another car, but from what I've read, they transform the ride quality.

My friend just picked up the car today from the detail shop. Stage 1 paint correction with paint protection coating applied. It is incredible the way the metallic flakes shows up after the paint correction.

Where was the car made? Rosslyn?

I'm really thinking about picking up a certified pre owned M340i with M performance power and sound kit..very tempting.
