CLS-Class (C218) [Official] 2015 Mercedes-Benz CLS

The C218 Mercedes-Benz CLS is the second generation of the Mercedes CLS-Class range of four-door coupé sedans. It is succeeded by the CLS (C257). Body styles: C218 (4-door coupé), X218 (5-door shooting brake). Production: January 2011 – December 2017
We received our first CLS400 earlie this week.
The exterior facelift really helps this car. the newer bumper design works better with the curvy shapes of this car.

Interior: I think if they had designed the dash to contour around the large screen it would look more organic. Instead, it looks like an afterthought. There should be a indention in the dash that kind of welcomes the screen and hides the mounting point.

I share your thoughts on the interior. Although they've made the COMAND screen larger, the huge bezel around the display is unsightly and does not belong in anything with a MB badge.

Good grief, I can't believe they couldn't resolve that massive, horribly designed tow hook cover.

Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class – 2014 vs. 2015 Comparison

The mid-cycle refresh for the Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class has arrived and the changes look great! Here is my last 2014 CLS550 (very basic) parked next to a 2015 CLS550 4Matric. It isn’t my most apples-to-apples comparison but it should highlight the differences in lights, bumpers and interior.

Wow, all that empty real estate on the screen makes me like the pre facelifted model more.

I have to say, that screen looks a lot better than the current one and the one in the g63.

About the screen to bezel ratio. Wouldn't be surprised if it's related to this. :)

It looks better with the display showing graphics with very dark background but the screen to bezel ratio is comical.
Agreed. I was shocked when I saw it in person. Here is this huge in-you-face display and yet the display area isn't all that large. And they should have figured a way to recess the screen further into the dash. I find it hard to imagine that Mercedes is ignorant of all the negative feedback regarding this 'tablet' look idea.

I hate to say this but Audi is doing it right with the LCD display for the instruments and a pop up screen for the rest. I was hoping MB will adopt such a design.

MB tried a fold-up screen in the 2008 C-Class, pre-facelift. Since it caused numerous complaints, they may have been considering a different solution now instead. :)

the new cls will most likely ditch the tablet style idea.

MB's previous solution was sightly different because the screen retracted behind this huge and ugly cover rather than retracting back inside the dashboard.

I'd love a CLS550 with saddle brown interior sometime soon, but that tacked on screen is yuck. It ruins everything for me.

The upper part of the dashboard and doors needs to be black!
