Accord [Official] 2013 Honda Accord

The Honda Accord, also known as the Honda Inspire in Japan and China for certain generations, is a series of automobiles manufactured by Honda since 1976, best known for its four-door sedan variant, which has been one of the best-selling cars in the United States since 1989. The Accord nameplate has been applied to a variety of vehicles worldwide, including coupes, station wagons, hatchbacks and a Honda Crosstour crossover.
I was teasing mate. I own an F10 550i x drive and in my view it is easily best in class. Sport, luxury or otherwise!

The 5er is every is every bit as luxurious as the E dont know why you have that opinion:rolleyes:

I say we turn this thread into an annual E VS 5er Thread, those are more fun. :D

I think the E is still the benchmark in the class when it comes to Luxury (and design, considering it doesn't share its with all its siblings!!). :woot:

Despite the name, this forum is more than just German cars, so can you guys take this endless discussion to the appropriate section of the forum.

Didn't intend to get us side-tracked into that age-old debate.

It really is ridiculous that someone would suggest that folks would cross-shop an E class and an Accord (this would be a very rare occurence). I owned several Accords when I was younger and purchased one several years back for my aging mom. I still think they are best in class and this new one looks much better.

I don't think anyone is suggesting an accord will be cross shopped. All KA and I are pointing out is that the treatment of the front bumper is uncannily similar to the front bumper of an AMG equipped E. Nothing more than that.

This car is as dull as dishwater and if you think style doesn't matter in this class, VW, Hyundai and Ford have or will have proven that assumption to be wrong. A family car doesn't have to look like a blender or microwave anymore.

VW designs are very good but extremely conservative. Hyundai's look completely over-designed, way too much going on. And the Fusion is o.k. but hardly exciting.

It just sounds like you have a thing for Honda Merc1.

Lets let the new Accord's success in the marketplace be the critics barometer.

Either way you wanna call it, they all look better IMO. VW's are handsomely conservative, the new Fusion is a real looker the Sonota is in no way over designed IMO.

Honda will sell like hotcakes, which it has always done so there is nothing to see. It sold better the worse it looked. Don't care about sales. None of that sales success doesn't negate the fact that the design is as dull as dishwater.

It is obviously pointless to continue this subject with you since you are being so subjective regarding this cars appearance. It's cool that you don't like it. Others do however. And I think that its future success in the market place speaks to that opinion.

I think I just stated that in the previous post that it has been much uglier and sold better, so yeah that is pointless for me to look at sales as some big success story at this point when others have nearly the same sales with much better looking designs. I thought we we're talkiing about the styling of the car to begin with, or at least I was. Didn't say it was a bad car, only an ugly/dull one. Big difference.

You don't get what I'm saying? Really? Simply put, the car has looked worse than it does now and it was the best selling car or runner up before so why should this insipid design be any different. Meaning that saying how the marketplace reacts doesn't have anything to do with its design, middle of the road America loves ugly/bland cars. Look at the best selling Toyota Corolla if you don't get it.

I do understand what you are saying Merc1 and I am fine with your opinion. I am suggesting that your opinion is not representative of all sentient life......

Finally. Never said my opinion was "representative of all sentient life", clearly it isn't since the Accord is a best seller year after year after year. The car will do great in the market place because people who don't care about how a car looks will be fine with it, that much I thought was understood here.

One last crack at this. The vast majority of folks who buy the car, probably like the looks as well Merc1 (even if you do not). To suggest that millions buy a car that THEY think doesn't look good, is nonsensical.
