A4/S4/RS4 [Official] 2013 Audi RS4 B8

The Audi A4 is a line of luxury compact executive cars produced by Audi. Production: 1994-2025. Predecessor: Audi 80. Successor: Audi A5 (B10).
Times are certainly changing. Engines like the RS4's and the current e92 M3's are the last of its kind. We need to appreciate them while they are around.

I praise BMW and their hi-revving engines in mainstream motors because without them I doubt Audi would ever have took the approach of 'we'll show them' and build their 4.2FSI. But the reality is that in mainstream these engines are dinosaurs due to their inability to get the emissions down and their economy up.

Man, that is pure sex. BUT can they PLEASE show the damn car in another color than this in your face-red?

I really don't like the matt aluminium trim. I prefer the black styling package with body-coloured mirror housings.

Lamborghini Orange eh? It looks unacceptably shouty on anything other than a Lamborghini or Ford Focus ST.

I think it's probably an Audi Exclusive colour so if you've willing to pay it will be available on numerous models. Personally I don't think I've the balls to order mine in that but if you want to get noticed then what better.

I like Sepang Blue myself.

I'd take that B7 RS4 nine times out of ten over the B8. Best front-engined Audi ever made. B8 needs a darn manual gearbox too as a cheaper option.

For me personally the B8 S4 is such a huge improvement over the older B7 S4 that I can't see how the B8 RS4 won't improve on the B7 RS4, I think the reason why the B7 RS4 is cherished so much is that it was such an improvement over the S4 version. I just can't see how the new one won't be better in every measureable way.

As for the lack of manual, this sadly is a decision more and more companies seem to be taking and I'm almost sure BMW will follow suit in the future. Personally if I'm only wanting to drive quickly on the public road rather than take to the track for a day's driving pleasure DCTs are perfect but ultimately it's another connecttion removed from the overall driving experience. Some will be much more troubled about this than others.

...and I'm almost sure BMW will follow suit in the future.

And Martin is 100% spot on. The B7 RS4 is way more awesome than the current RS5 coupe. And the RS5 coupe will soon prove to be the best version of the RS4/RS5. A coupe is always better than an estate.

I have little doubt the RS5 will be quicker, more weight will take the performance edge off the RS4 but personally I much preferred the way my S4 Avant drove compared to the S5 coupe, might be that it has a slightly better weight distribution or was all down to the shorter/slightly lighter weight V6 compared to the bigger V8 but in my opinion it's handling was even sweeter.

As for the argument on gearbox choice, I don't really care what BMW or anyone else chose to do in the future as I was only giving an opinion of what I reckon will happen based on public demand. Outside of America the M5 is solely offered in DCT so it's obviously the rest of the world has accepted the benefits of this transmission and BMW don't see the point in offering another transmission.

^ I have to say that this plain vanilla red really suits the RS4 better than most other RS Audis.

Yup. Looks good.
But I really want to see this car in black, white, silver or blue.

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
