It's an X3 Preliminary sketch before you have to accomodate requirements and legislation etc.

Here is one with a "very well used" X3 with optional 19" Alloy wheels.

I was seriously disappointed with the X3. It's clearly better looking than the outgoing model but it's still no looker. The interior on the black X3 at Paris felt very cheap indeed, just like the X1. The black panel technology was even smaller than on the official photos of the X3, so I don't know what box you have to tick to get the black panel tech as shown in the BMW pics.

Q5 for me without a doubt.

I have a 20d xDrive X3 at the moment and I see no elements which you suggest? The dash feels solid and very high quality with a high-end grain feel on the texture. This is afterall a Premium entry segment vehicle.

AutoSpies.com has "real-life" pictures of the M-Sport package away from the show stand or studio. Here it is with the equally handsome X1.

Funny that this comment are also found on a french forum. Well if you actually drive a 3 serie (E9x), then the F25 won't disappoint you, it has almost the same interior as what we have. Do you E9x drivers, complains about the material's quality in your car? no. If you want the same level of material as found in the new 5 series, then you have to look at the x5 and it next successor. Remember the post of Scott27, regarding the plateform sharing parts in the bmw family. So please stop complaining about the interior of the new x3, because it is uptodate compared to his segment in the bmw family.

This is a public forum where I am giving my opinion. My opinion based on what I experienced in Paris was that the X3 felt cheap. The interior felt sparse and had huge swathes of what looked and felt like cheap plastic. The 3 Series doesn't feel like that because it's interior is smaller, possibly.

Do not tell me what I should and shouldn't do.

I respect IRL comments, especially on interior quality. I sometimes wonder if manufacturers of PREMIUM product realize just how important tactile quality is to the consumer who pays HUGE amounts of money for their products?

IMO Porsche does seem to understand the true meaning of the word PREMIUM and how to impress the buyer - coming to think of it, they (Porsche) does deserve success in sales based upon that exact fact.

I am listening to Betty and his opinion, we all experience things differently and based on that fact we differ from opinion. And I for one are VERY obsessed with tactile and perceived quality. So then if Betty is of opinion that their is shortcomings in the perceived and tactile quality of the new X3, then I am afraid that my first IRL opinion of the X3 is going to be one of disappointment....

I would pay to have detailed discussion with BMW interior design about this subject. And for one I will start by asking why the 1er, 3er and X1 only have one - one piece door rubber, whilst a KIA Sportage for example has two thick rubbers (one on the door and one on the car itself)..
And how they BMW can even try and teach and old dog and customer to the brand (myself) in trying to trick me into believing that a X1 with sub standard quality compared to a VW Tiguan is a premium product etc....I would just love questioning them and hear their stupid answers. I know the answers already. They make misuse of the famous BMW emblem and are VERY clever in making money! Good strategy actually! That is called: Growth and return on investment

Why not?

I just want to give one simple example.

In the photo of the F10 5 series center console (surrounding the gear lever) nice stitched leather are used.

In the photo of my X1 hard shiny, sub standard plastic are used.

So then why couldn't BMW just used the synthetic (non leather material) used in the doors of my X1 and made a pre-cut piece and just stick it on that recycled plastic, covering it? It would have made a HUGE + MAJOR difference in perceived quality! Easy isn't it? Problem solved! And that is not asking much as it's not even real leather! Geez, that little fix could f-up my whole relationship with the brand
