X3/X4 [Official] 2011 BMW X3

The BMW X3 is an SUV manufactured by BMW since 2003, based on the BMW 3 Series platform. The BMW X4 is a compact luxury crossover SUV manufactured by BMW since 2014. The X4 is widely considered as a "coupé" version of the X3.
M pack looks great!!!! In line with the new 5er from the back at least....

Stunning! Absolutely perfect in proportion and well balanced!:eusa_clap

First, I couldn't stay online for the official pics, 2nd I get a chaffing DNS error when I wanted to post my 2 cents worth on the new X3.

I love it. I could see me and my family in it. Provided it came with a spare wheel of sorts.
I think it's a great effort from BMW; it manages to look edgy in places (but not boxy) and curvy in others (without looking like a blob).

The GLK and the Q5 are both terrific in their own ways but they represent the extreme ends of the spectrum. It's the BMW X3 that has the best styling balance in the segment now.
:t-cheers:

EDIT: Apart from the Climate Control and a few other familiar switchgear (that I have a problem with) the top of the dash says E70 X5 and that is a good thing! Looks perfect!

Well a GLK certainly looks better than a Forester. So are you saying my Forester looks worse than cr@p? Careful... :eusa_naug

:D :D

Nah, I like the GLK. But new X3 is top of my pop-chart now. It's hot.

Maybe it's because I paid a huge amount of money for my X1, but the new X3 has many X1 design elements in and out AND that brings the X1 more into the premium line of things IMO.

OR am I dreaming?

I don't know if I like it....
In my book it will still be the ugliest BMW when it goes into production.

Absolutely loved it. Looks great & all grown up. And if you compare it to the last-gen, this new face sure is a revolution! :usa7uh:

Er....that's an unusual way of looking at things. I'd noticed an X1 feel to the interior, and I'd say that brings the X3 DOWN to the X1 level.

Shame really.

Even the LCD Black Panel technology dials aren't the full ones. The numbers don't disappear from view when the ignition is switched off (like the 5 Series by the way).

Overall?

Not bad looking 7/10.

I LOVE IT!!:eye8: I WANT IT NOW!!!

The exterior is very beautiful!
It is better than the 1st generation of X3 and the 2nd Generetion X3 as well!

The camouflage did a very good job because nobody predicted 100% the final model! For 2 years here in GCF and in other websites I saw hudrends of spy photos and the result was very ugly! But they were wrong! The real car is very beautiful!

I like also that although it is powerful it has low fuel consumption!! Well done BMW!! Green BMW!:D ( I am waiting also a more hybrid version in the near future!!! I am sure there will be!!)

The interior is OK nothing special but typical BMW as always! With aluminium instead of wood it will be fine!

:bowdown:Well done BMW! :usa7uh:

I found the car that will replace my current X3 in a year from now!

Aren't full BlackPanel dials only meant for the BMW Large platform? 5-, 6- 7-series etc? I remember a BMW engineer saying that once. :t-hands:

I like it alot. In my opinion the interior does look Audish, which is not a bad thing.

I'm sorry i'm gonna be harsh, the front is really weird with those prominent arches and flat lights makes the car looks like it has huge cheek bones, side profile is easily a Hyundai santafe or Pontiac, interior is of course nothing to write about and the best thing is the rear.

IMO i like the GLK AMG or Q5 S-Line more over the M packed X3 from pics at least.

Pretty much what I was thinking - 'Korean' came to my mind too. It's not like the X3 is a horrid-looking car (at least it doesn't look like something you might find living in the bottom of the ocean anymore), but in my opinion it's still miles behind the competition, looks-wise.

Since 2004 we have sold over 600,000 BMW X3 models , The car that started the premium segment for mid-class Sport Activity Vehicles.
If the new car continues the success of the old model we can possibly see the 1 millionth X3 sooner rather than later.

In the design process for the F25 , We learned that customers like the strong solid , robust exterior so the decision was made to progress the original look in which with the more dynamic roof line towards the rear bringing a more cohesive look to the glasshouse than the E83.
The upswept rear quarterlight window is now a typical X Characteristic. X1 has it as does X6 and now the X3 and the few sketches for the next X5 showcase it too. Overall the car was reverse engineered it was always a question of removing the areas that hindered the car and fine tuning and progressing what did do well, in light of the competition from Audi and Mercedes-Benz.

M-Sport although not available until this time next year enahances the looks for a more dynamic appearance. We will also have a BMW Performance Packet for the X3 because it is a more sporting ethusiast SAV. An M. Model is not considered at this time, But would possibly inherit the engine from the 1M.
But marketing are looking towards an iS instead. Active Hybrid model with full hybrid will also be available eventually.

Oh dear, the same generic BMW rear as all their other SUV's with GLK wheel arches and Audi interior/front headlights. Talk about orginality. The only thing I can say is at least it's not as horrible as the old one.

Yeah definitely the AMG GLK for me here,i love it's rugged masculine look with the sporty accent added by LEDs and AMG kit and rims.

Not even with AMG kit and 21 inchers?

Nah. Actually, ironically I saw one (GLK) last night and thought it looked okay, it was black, and dark out, and the street-lamps were allowing the lines to shadowplay nicely. I wouldn't mind one at all for a rugged every day beat-around car though.

it's just too cheap looking, too boxy, too "plastic looking", too cutesy (which I understand this type of car needs to be, but isn't my taste), too many hard carved lines that lack any elegance. It looks like Ford or some other more plebeian brand could have made it.

For the record, I don't like any M-B SUV's though, they just don't seem to be aligned with the rest of the brand. Very Americanized, which SUV's are by nature of course.
